Followed my Dad"s tastes in alcohol & even bourbon for a while re. I.W. Harper & blended whiskey of Seagram V.O. but once randomly exposed to Wild Turkey 101 at 28, I have never waivered from 101, now just hitting 84. I use 2 shots with 12 oz of 7-Up for mellow slow-drinking bliss! And I only purchase the 1.75 ltr for greatest value. Must soon try the 8 year version.

It seems like any that has developed a distinction of bourbon flavors tends to prefer a bourbon above 100 proof. Below that, you just loose too much flavor. For the price point this is one of the best bangs for the buck you’ll find anywhere. Excellent flavor. It’s always on my shelf.

I call this my benchmark whiskey because of its low price. Most whiskies cost more than 101. I am in two bourbon clubs, so I get to taste a lot of whiskeys. Most of them (regardless of price), are simply not as good as Wild Turkey 101. Hence, I don't buy them. I always have WT 101 on my bar.
