- 5 out of 5 stars review10/22/2015These are perfect for working out. I was truly astonished at how well these work, and I definitely prefer using these over using my gym's free weight set. I really appreciate the fact that I can dial in mid-weight increases when stepping my workout to a higher level. One knob at 35 and one at 40 provides a nice halfway transition instead of the 5 lb jump I might not be quite ready to make. The only downside I've found is that this was a starter set for me. It's only been a couple of months, but I'm already maxing out on the 52.5 lbs. I'll be selling these off soon to buy the 1090's.

Instead of changing out plates, just dial it up, or down to the weight that you want, from just using the bar, up to 52 lbs per dumb bell with the twist of the dial. Excellent quality material also.

I'm not certain what i can do to stop the process but considering it's bowflex, it's disappointing this is occurring at all.

I have been waiting for a few years now for a pair of these dumbbells to purchase. But, was always more than I wanted to pay. I have finally found some that are the price range that I have wanted, and am very pleased. These are top quality, and am glad they have come down to a competitive price. I use these four to five times per week, and highly recommend. The DVD that comes with shows many new exercises that you can use to strengthen your whole body. Well Done Bowflex, these dumbbells are the perfect compliment to my power-rod weight machine.

They were shipped in extremely safe packaging to the Walmart where I picked up from. Unboxing was a breeze and they were ready within minutes. I HIGHLY recommend these to all fitness folks.

The build quality seems very good and the weights don't seem flimsy at all when manipulating them in your hands. I was contemplating buying this or a similar product for a long time and am glad I finally made the investment.

I felt bad for the delivery person as they are really heavy! lol, but my husband really likes them they adjust from 5 lbs (for me)to 50 lbs with the click of a lever! nice for me as I just want to tone and NOT build muscle. They are compact and fit in small spaces without being in the way. We have had other weight systems and the weights are always all over the place and take time to change and adjust. These are so convenient! All in all I think this idea is genius ! and they are great for anyone wanting to do a little weight training without the HUGE investment or space sacrifice!

The Bowflex Selectech 552 was the right choice. The weights are easy to use, dialing the weight you want to use. The shape of the weights, round, is nice. This is a quality product. I like the 2.5 lb increments. I do not use heavy weight like my husband, so this is important. The weight go up to 52.5 lbs for him. The amount of room they take up is far less then if I would have purchased individual weight. I did purchase a stand, which is a must so you are not bending to the floor to pick up each time you use them. Getting old is not for sissies, so I recommend these to battle the aging processes.

I live in an apartment so I needed something compact that would not take up a lot of space. The only thing I would change is that they would be shorter but I understand that the weights could not be as heavy. The weight range allows for me and my husband to both utilize the weights. They are perfect if you are using a wide range of weights.

Got them for doing P90 and my other Beachbody programs and I'm seeing so much change because I have weights that challenge me. Love how they take up so little space but can dial up to so much weight. The long dumbbell makes some of the moves a little awkward to do but pretty easy to modify and make them work.

Debated on purchasing the Powerblocks instead, but for this price it was a no brainer. Dumbbells adjust easily, as well as quickly, for maintaining a good heart rate while working out. Huge space saver!!!

However, I had to return them because the handle was broken due to shipping and the weights would not stay on. I re-ordered them and hope that this time nothing will be damaged.

They are extremely easy to make adjustments to and seem to be built of high quality. You can move from one excersise to the next in almost no time at all. Been using it for a month now so review is from a new user perspective. The dial is steady and works very well. I did read other reviews complaining about faulty dial system yet ventured to purchase this because I needed compact dumb bells. Over time, you would get used to this product as it definitely feels different compared to the traditional dumb bells you've used. The package itself is really HEAVY! Make sure you read the unpacking instructions in the booklet. The manufacturer should keep unpacking instructions pasted separately on the top of the inside packaging so people are alerted immediately than much later.
