Good Addition to Meals

We add spinach, along with bell peppers, to our morning egg whites. Makes a healthy breakfast with the nutrition added by the spinach. This produce has always been found to be WITHOUT sand or dirt which may be commonly found with other suppliers. The latest box contained a weed, identified as goosefoots (chenopodium), which was difficult to distinguish from the spinach. The attached photo of the weed was taken after it had wilted because it had been left on a warm counter.

Not thoroughly washed

I found a dead ladybug in one spinach container and mud in another. I agree organic, but it's inedible when there is a dead bug in one container and mud in another. It's a shame, because this spinach is good and flavorful when you get a package that is completely washed. I won't take anymore chances and won't buy again.

Horrible new packagine

The new packaging with the so-called "easy open peel and reseal lid" for your Organic Baby Spinach does not work well at all. While it is laudable that the company is attempting to be more environmentally conscious I feel that the implementation of this new packaging is seriously flawed. My major problem is that the "easy open" aspect is far from that, Rather, it is very difficult to open and have the thin plastic covering remain intact. As a consequence, it is virtually impossible to have an air-tight seal on the container, leading to faster oxidation, wilting and spoilage of the product. The previous packaging, while it may have used more plastic, did not have this problem. In addition, the previous packaging with the semi-rigid lid was completely recyclable with no modifications. I could simply rinse out the container and it was readily accepted by my county's recycle program. Unfortunately, they will not accept the flimsy plastic that is currently used for the lid so it needs to be carefully separated from the bottom, as an extra step. Furthermore, the previous container, when placed on a shelf in my refrigerator, could accommodate items placed on top of it, thus yielding more efficient storage. With the current plastic sheeting used as a covering that it no longer possible, not to mention that I could also utilize the previous container with rigid lid to store other items once the contents had been consumed. The company no doubt did some marketing research before adopting this new packaging, but I do not agree with the outcome. It is unlikely that I will continue to purchase this item in the future when there are other products on the market that have the container configuration this I like better.

Not as good as it used to be

I used to buy this spinach every week. It used to be crisp and tender. It also used to keep a lot longer because of a plastic lid. I'd lay paper towel on the lid than flip the whole container over to collect the excess water. Now it's just a thin piece of plastic wrap. There is no way to reseal it to keep it fresh. I was incredibly disappointed but decided to try to keep it fresh another way. When I opened it, the spinach in the middle was wilted and slimy. Threw it out. Will not buy again and am not returning after my membership runs out because the quality of so many products is going down.

Disgusting

I purchased 5 containers of 16oz’s of Organic Spinach from Pure Pacific. I noticed that it had traces of bug activity on the leaves but it said prewashed & ready to enjoy so thought nothing of it. I soaked it found lots of pupa & larvae. So grossed out! Both kids & I have been eating it.

Spinach totally unusable before “ best by” date!

Tried to use the spinach 2.5 days after purchase (a day before “best by” date.) The spinach was turning yellow, rotting, and looked like it had been stomped on. If that wasn’t bad enough, there were five pieces of some kind of weed in it. I had to throw the entire container out!

Drenched with water

This product is now packaged by Earthbound Farm and drenched with water, which causes it to rot quickly. It doesn't last near the best by date. It was packaged previously by Taylor Farms and didn't contain near the amount of moisture that it does now. I used to like the Taylor Farms product, but I won't be buying any more of the Earthbound Farm product.
