Excellent service life, quiet and serviceable.

I had a set of these on my Ford F350 for 70,000 miles. Probably 30,000 miles pulling a fifth wheel trailer, loading the rear axle close to the maximum weight. These tires were smooth, quiet and reliable. They were 10ply tires on a 1 ton 4WD truck, so I can’t say they were a delight to drive on, but as smooth as the LTX A/S I put on the truck next. The tires kept their balance between rotations. Had one flat tire the whole time we owned them. They performed fine in the mud and snow we had them in. They pulled us and the trailer out of a dirt road campground on the north rim of the GC, when all others were stuck and barely out of their campgrounds. I will buy them again.

The a/t version of the ...

The a/t version of the LTX truck tire provides a surprisingly smooth, comfortable pavement ride with excellent dry and wet pavement handling and braking performance. I did not notice a significant decrease in fuel mileage or ride comfort from my previous tires, the LTX m/s, as might be expected. The a/t doesn't provide as aggressive an off-road tread as some competitors, and provides an excellent compromise between on-road civility and off-road traction for those who occasionally take their truck onto pastures and slippery, muddy forest service roads. My 'E' rated version provides plenty of capacity for towing and load on a heavy duty pickup or SUV. A fine tire so far, which appears to justify the price premium for this quality truck tire.

Excellent tire!!!

These are great tires. I am in the timber business and use these on/off road, bad logging roads, gravel secondary roads and highway. I currently have 70,000 miles on them and by my calculations should get another 25,000 to 30,000 miles before they need replacing. Excellent traction, good ride and quiet. I was suprised how far you could go with these tires before you had to engage 4 wheel drive. I currently have these tires on two other trucks and we are getting the same service from them on these trucks. We also had snow here in the South last winter and they handled it very well.

Dangerous

I have had 3 tires of this line have catastrophic tread separations. One occured at highway speed and the other 2 occured after the tires had been removed from the vehicle when the separation was noted. These were discovered while the vehicle was parked and the tires were removed. From conversations with the tire dealer, this is common for this model of tire. These tires are rough riding and noisy. I was suprised how much better the replacement tires were( not michelins). They are difficult to keep in balance and have poor traction on anything but dry pavement.

Best tires I've ever had.

I have found that my truck handles better, corners smoother and braking has greatly improved. I have 206,000 miles on my truck so I know the differance between Michelins and other tires. I will always use Michelins from now on. The funny part is the Michelins were an upgrade when the tires I had were recalled, the shop could not get the replacement tires for me so they upgraded me to my Michelins. I couldn't be happier.

LTX A/T2 best all terrain tire

I purchased the LTX A/T2 after searching and researching for the best all around all terrain tire. When I say all around I examined tire capabilities, wet and dry traction, road noise, load range, etc. While the LTX A/T 2 is expensive you get what you pay for. These have been on my Silverado for nearly 3 years and the hardly look worn. Traction is excellent, wet or dry, and for an all terrain they do well off road. I rotate at every oil change and have never had to rebalance these tires. I have always liked Michelins on my passenger cars and would buy another set for this truck (if I ever wear them out)!

A/T means Asphalt Tire not All Terrain

The A/T 2 is not a tire for off road or even cutting a cross your yard. I have to put my truck in 4 wheel drive just to pull through my yard. I have been a Michelin man my whole life. I have Michelins on all my other cars (4). But if Michelin doesn't come out with the LTX M/S in the 275/65R20, I hate to say it I will NOT be buying Michelins for my F250 when these A/T 2's are worn out unless LTX M/S comes out in my size.

I have bought 2 sets of ...

I have bought 2 sets of the AT2 one for my restored 1974 International Scout II, and my classic 1988 Dodge W-150 Power Ram (Power Wagon). I truly love these tires! They are (were) the most aggressive tread design I had seen on Michelin's to that time. I been running them for over 2 years now, on both vehicles. They are very quiet for any light truck tire, but even more so for a more aggressive type tread patteren. They work very well on dry pavement (as you would expect), but also on the rain we get in the Western WA. as well as the ice & snow. I have total confidence in these tires traction abilities for year round driving. As for their easy rolling characteristics all can say is WOW! My Scout's equipped with a manual transmission and if its on any grade (even one you can't perceive) as soon as you take off the brakes he starts to roll. Iv'e tried coasting in the higher gears and seems to only slow down because of the Scout's air drag. In closing I think that the highest recommendation I can give these tires is my promise to replace them (if I can ever wear them out) with another set of the AT2's. Drive Safely, Buck.

LTX AT 2 are very quiet tires, very minimal road noise, very aggressive in snow, they destroy water on the highway, if your following me at 65 in the rain you better have a new set of wipper blades. They disperse rain like crazy, you will not hydroplane you will feel confident.

I do a lot of hiway driving and also use my rig for off-road hunting trips. I have used Michelin tires for many years and I find the LTX an excellent tire for both uses. I feel safe driving on them and charish the safety of them while driving my grandchildren around Montana and Washington; where weather can change without a moment's notice.
