Very Disappointed

I love Ninja products, especially my older air fryer. This product did not live up to their brand. Bad design on the trays, have to insert or remove both at the same time, very awkward, especially when hot. Finish on tray terrible, difficult to clean. Rattles when air frying. Returned it.

Good for cooking pizza and fries. That's about it

The best thing about this oven is that the back opens to make cleaning easier. I brought it for that reason with hopes that I could get at least the same use of it as my old convection oven. This oven is good for cooking flat items only like pizza, fries, hamburgers, skinny hot dogs, bacon, wingettes, cookies. And it's good for weight loss because I find myself going hungry rather than having to be bothered with using it. Can't turn the temp up to high because it will smoke. Will set off your smoke alarm with no smoke at all. I had to move mine to a different area in the house. I had this oven now for about 6 months and I find that I'm using my full size stove/oven more than I ever did before because I can't cook a decent meal in this thing. I really hate that it only has 1 rack because I can't prepare a family meal in it at all. It is so flat in size that you will need to separate your burger buns tops from the bottoms if you don't want to burn the tops.. Just about everything you want to cook will sit too close to the heat elements to fit. I hate to say I'm hoping it will break soon so I won't feel guilty about when I decide to just throw it out. I

who writes these reviews?

I have never been so underwhelmed by a product in my life. You need to have three parts, a rack, a drip pan,and the basket to air fry. That leaves you about an inch and a half for cooking food that will splatter onto the heating element. AND it takes up a LOT of space even flipped up! Do not recommend.

Extremely poor design and doesn't work well

I have absolutely no idea how this thing ever got 5 star reviews. It fails to excel in any of it's functions. As an oven, it heats very unevenly, and you have no control over how much heat comes out of the top vs bottom burner. Even on the bake setting, the top heating elements are on, resulting in pizzas getting way overcooked on the top, and not done on the bottom. As an air fryer, there is very little clearance for the food between the basket and top heating element. I put some larger chicken fingers in it, which were about 1.5 inches tall, and they hit the top heating elements. Air frying is also very uneven. You have to keep moving the food around to attempt to get even cooking. The ONLY thing this thing does well is it preheats very fast, and cooks very fast. Beyond that, it is a fail. I am returning it (and I rarely return anything). If they would have made it an inch or two taller, to get more spacing from the burners, and allowed you more control over the heating elements, it might work.

Ninja Air Fryer

I review everything thoroughly because I purchase a lot. It always amazes me how one review loves it and another hates it. So here I am to say I'm not happy with this oven at all and I have and love Ninja items. My problem is not with the function of it but the horrible material of the racks and the fact that it's very hard to clean. I clean mine every time I use it. The racks became discolored immediately. The mesh one is really bad and so is the rack. I'm A very meticulous person and I have every single top of the line cleaning products, Scrub Daddy, etc. nothing helped. It started out silver and is now a grubby brownish color that looks dirty. I can't believe it's anything I did because I have read reviews that mentioned the material that it's made of was cheap. But I overlooked those because there were many positive comments. I dislike it so much I'm ready to give it away and get something else after having it for just a few months. I very rarely have reason to give negative feedback. So for what it's worth that's my opinion.

Great features--One safety concern

Yes this is a versatile unit and we use it every day with great results. One warning: Be very careful when cleaning this unit. The tray supporters on each side of the unit are unnecessarily sharp and can cause cuts to unprotected fingers. Wear gloves that are appropriately thick for this job

So far...

I caught a sale on this about a month ago, as the garbage powerxl one i bought wouldn't heat up anymore. I'm a slow and low cooker person, so I get a little better outcomes. This cooks quickly. Good for somethings. Other things, the outside cooks before the inside so turning down the temp helps. It doesn't toast that evenly (or cook) but not horrible. Mostly it is easy to clean. It recommends leaving the pan in while air frying. I do and it does not hinder the performance. With some foil on that pan, easy clean up. The heat shields on the heating elements seem like they will be a pain when they get dirty. I don't like the minamal height inside. Another inch or two would have been more helpful. The flip up storage is nice to free up a little counter space. Overall, easy to clean, easy to operate, and decent results cooking. So I would recommend this for the price.

I'm All About This!!

I bought this several months ago. I left it in the box for about a month because I was a little hesitant to try something new. WHAT A WASTED MONTH!! Have not turned the built in oven on since I started using the Ninja! The temperature control is accurate. The space is adequate for my husband and I. No heat escapes, so kitchen does not heat up. Simple to use - husband, who does NOT read directions to anything, uses this with ease. I have baked cakes, biscuits, muffins, casseroles, chicken and fish. Roasted fresh veggies. Air fried sweet potato slices, cottage potatoes. I am thrilled with this time and energy saver! The only drawback I have found is the racks do not fit in my dishwasher so must be hand washed.

Verified Purchase

Good and compact with only minor issues

very compact, instant pre-heat, food turns out pretty well, bit often burns on ehinner edges on ait fry Also almost impossible to clean everything from air grid and especially grill pan below unless sprayed with oil, which makes fried frozen fish stick to the grid (also burns the small ends to get the thicker center cooked properly

Ninja Foodi Grill is much better

Bought this in January. We have the Ninja Foodi Grill and so we have that to compare it to. This oven does not brown and crisp as well. I’d have to Air fry whatever I made for a few extra minutes to equal the grill. I learned the hard way not to cook anything greasy like bratwurst in it because there’s no height to the oven, grease splatter everywhere. I’m also not a fan of always having to use the black tray on top of the rack. The rack gets dirty from reheating pizza and then this black tray slides on top. Just seems like a newer version will think of a better way to use the trays. On a positive note, it is very easy to clean and cleans well. We don’t store it standing up but it’s nice if I need more counter space or to clean it. Lastly I’ll say had I known the cons I think I would have gotten the Ninja Foodi Grill XL instead.
