Nice pairing for cheese and chocolate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fruity and bittersweet with a hint of spiciness and a subtle molasses finish, this pairs well with cheeses and chocolate. The rum barrel flavor was very mild compared to the other barrel aged flavors and a stronger flavor here would've really made this wine standout. Still nice by the glass too.

Smooth surprise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Robert Mondavi private selection rum barrel aged merlot has a dark maroon color. The aroma is an enticing rich berry with a hint of smoky oak. This merlot is somewhat dry to the taste. It paired very well with a rib eye steak.

Better for cooking than for drinking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a sample in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own. The aroma has notes of chocolate, citrus, cherry and molasses. It is a dark red wine with shades of purple. In terms of taste, it has notes of blackberry and persimmon. I give a low score due to how acidic this wine is on the tongue. It has a harsh acidic taste when drinking but served much better as a cooking wine.

Merlot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I accidentally reviewed Merlot by clicking on Cabernet Sauvignon.... I guess I should have waited the next day instead of right after tasting these wines? Oops. Anyway, as a I said the Merlot had a cherry aroma with a dark red appearance. It is a dry wine so not sweet, but has a smooth finish. I would definitely lean towards buying Robert Mondavi wines going forward. I tried their white wines as well and they were very good.

Merlot in love

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sweet berries and strong aroma of fruit gave me a wonderful nostalgic feeling. I am going to be serving at Thanksgiving in a couple weeks again to my friends and family. They enjoyed it very much. I paired with some cheddar and port wine cheeses. Grapes. And dried fruits and nuts. Would buy again in a heart beat. Thanks ripple street for turning me on to my new pleasure!

FULL

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a tasty, full-bodied red. Definitely on the drier side, but it worked really well with a steak and potatoes dinner I paired it with. I could not really tell it was rum barrel-aged, but it was definitely bold and more delicious.

A uniquely crafted merlot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Rum Barrel-Aged Merlot by Robert Mondavi Private boasted an absolutely enchanting and intricate flavor profile. The exotic practice of Dark Rum barrel aging allows for fruity plum and blueberry flavors to shine through. Additionally, the process allows for toasted coconut flavor to take presence, which is my personal favorite out of the wine's entire profile.

The slightly sweet molasses flavor, pairs well wit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Working 9 to 5, what a way to make a living! As a hardworking mother and teacher, I feel like I am always on the go; but, when my busy day comes to an end, I love to take a hot bubble bath & curl up with a sexy cool thriller and a nice cold glass of wine or one of my favorite spirits, bourbon or rum!! For nights filled with secrets, romance, and intrigue, I prefer a cold glass of Robert Mondavi's Private Selection, Rum Barrel-Aged Merlot. The combo of red wine and rum gives this 750 mL wine a slightly sweet flavor with hints of molasses, maple, black plum, blackberries, coconut, and vanilla and I find the slightly sugarcane flavor goes well with a spicy buttermilk chicken Jibarito or if I want fast satisfaction, a plate of pulled BBQ pork loaded fries. Great for 5 glasses of wine!! #robertmondaviprivateselection #sponsored @ripplestreetfun

Tastes good on its own and with everything you pai

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Robert Mondavi Private Selection Rum Barrel-Aged Merlot is one of the most delicious wines I’ve tried in a while. It has the perfect blend of dry and sweet, with notes of plum and blueberry. I followed the wine tasting guide to a T, and followed all the steps. First of all, the sight test: it has a dark red complexion, and looks almost velvety. Smell-wise it has fruity aroma – a combination of vanilla, plum and blueberry. It smells sooooooo amazing! The Robert Mondavi Private Selection Rum Barrel-Aged Merlot tasted very unique, and unlike any other wine I’ve had before. It had that perfect balance of dryness and sweetness, and the acidity level was on point. I loved the complexity of the taste, as you could definitely taste hints of juicy plum and blueberry. I paired it with dark chocolate, crackers with brie, gouda and cheddar cheeses, and or course some red grapes and green olives. Every combination worked so well, and it tasted amazingly delicious! I think from all barrel-aged wines, the Robert Mondavi Merlot is my favorite!
