[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rum barrel Merlot was good but it was not my favorite of the lot. We had it at dinner with jerk mango shrimp tacos and it seemed to pair well. It was honestly too much mashing of flavors for me personally.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Interesting tones of rum and even vanilla, along with the flavors of dark berries and cherries create a merlot that is robust enough to stand up to a beef bourguignon for dinner and pair well with a chocolate cake for dessert. Yet another win for my Robert Mondavi collection!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this one the best. Can taste the vanilla and molasses the most. Not near as bitter as the rye one. I guess I prefer rum to Rye. It's a bit smoother taste. Aroma smells a bit coconutty and berry smelling. Are with chicken kabobs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Merlot had a great flavor. Spicy, aromatic, smooth, slight hint of sweetness, and could taste the woodsiness of the barrel of rum. The rum was not as dominant tasting in this wine but the molasses and vanilla were. It paired well with the turkey for dinner. Would recommend.

You can definitely taste the barrel aged on it and that's what gives it a great taste. No nasty after taste. A great wine to enjoy after work to relax.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This wine was delicious! There was a lighter smell and more fruity. It was a dark red and the taste was what surprised me. I tasted a woodsy flavor with an aftertaste of coconut and that was the part I loved!! My husband tasted a fruity flavor with a hint of plum and blackberry. This wine was semi dry and perfect paired with chicken and any tropical dish!! This was my husband's favorite!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to be able to say I enjoyed the variety of the Robert mondavi barrel aged wines more than I did. Upon swirling the wine in the class I found it I really did not pick up on a lot of the scent notes that I was told that I would and that was very surprising to me. We do not find this wine to be as full in flavor as some of the other varieties and this and the mouthfeel was very light. I did not enjoy the stringent and the strange and overly tanic taste that this wine was lending but for sipping I for sipping I could probably enjoy it maybe with a different side of meats and cheeses.

It was delicious and different! You definitely get hints of stone fruit but the rum barrel provides a unique addition to a traditional Merlot. I loved it with a roast and root veggies!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mondavi private selection Rum Barrel-Aged Merlot was approved by everyone but especially my husband. The flavor was full bodied, with a rich aroma. Since my husband enjoyed the flavor we will have it again with almost anything including Italian foods, red meats and seafood.
