My palate enjoys dense, complex wines with a full mouth feel and a bit toward the jammy side. This fit the bill and I am adding it to my short list of especially enjoyed reds.

It had a fruity taste with hints of vanilla. very earthy tones. I felt it wasvery similar to the Cabernet we also had, except much more dry. I liked it for sure and would purchase again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Harvest 2020- RM Private Selection Rum Barrel-Aged Merlot. Color intense ruby red, clean, bright, opaque. With no apparent sign of evolution. On the nose, frank, fragrant, with intense aromas of black plum and fig. In addition to vanilla, chocolate and a finish of burnt coconut. In the mouth, dry, full-bodied, medium tannins with a slight roughness, high acidity, good concentration of flavors and long persistence. Needs to be opened in a decanter for about 40 to 60 minutes before drinking. Before that he is very acidic and unbalanced. Prolonged aftertaste and leaving a burnt coconut finish.

It goes great with so many different dishes, tastes very expensive and high quality. This is one that everyone loves and will definitely be buying

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t expect to like the rum barrel-aged merlot, but the mixture is intoxicating and begs you to take another drink of the lusciously smooth merlot. This wine pairs well with dessert.. chocolate in particular. Next time I drink this I will be eating a steak dinner and finishing up with a chocolate cheesecake.

I like and enjoy rum and could definitely taste it in this wine. The wine had a nice, pleasant aroma upon opening the bottle. I liked the taste/flavor and was kinda surprised by that. It truly grew on me the more I sipped it. Definitely an enjoyable flavor and I can certainly see myself sipping on this rum barrel-aged merlot again in the future.
