This bunch of bananas came to me not fully ripe with green still on the skin. I set them aside and waited for them to ripen. They didn't feel as firm as I expected them to really but I trusted the skin. Before the skin could fully yellow and get those one or two sweet little freckles that let you know they're ready to eat, they began to burst and flood my counter with rotten liquid! What is happening? The skin was still yellow and green! I think this has ruined bananas for me for a while.

The bunch of banana is very cheap but fully ripens within a couple days and is undesirable to eat within 4 days. Not sure this is an issue with Sam's Club because I have the same problem no matter where I get them. But I know that buying that many bananas in a bunch is a waste.

I only buy green tip bananas. Sam's Club has the most regular supply of yellow organic bananas. Plus, they are the best price. I can't eat the whole bunch alone before they start to over ripen. So I have two choices, refrigerate the bunch when they are at the point I prefer. This will cause the peel to darken, but keep the fruit fresh. Or peel and slice bite-size pieces onto a paper plate and freeze overnight. The following day, Transfer those pieces to a quart freezer bag. Snack on a natural, tasty treat whenever you have a sweet tooth and or want a cold treat. I use the slightly older frozen treats in my protein shake instead of ice. This adds vitamins, gives a rich milkshake texture not unlike a frosty. Bonus tip: I steep washed organic peels to add potassium, magnesium, calcium, B6, C, dopamine, lutin (an anti-oxident that supports eye health).

I received Pink Lady apples although I ordered Gala and almost every apple was bruised and a couple had to be tossed. Whomever the in store shopper that chose my order needs to be retrained! If my next order is as messed up as the above referenced order, I will not renew my Walmart membership upon the next renewal date.

Can I give zero stars? I put a lemon in the picture to show how green these bananas are. I am not sure who selects the produce for pick up orders but who would ever choose to purchase these dark green bananas? Nobody that's who. I should not be charged for these unripe bananas. I needed them for this weekend, not in 3 months. I don't buy fruit a season out from when I need it.

I've never gone out of my way to buy organic anything, mostly because the quality isn't noticeable to me most of the time. But in the banana department, organic is the way to go. They last longer than non organic and the best part is the resistance to bruising that is surprising. Almost all the visible peel bruises do not go through to the fruit, so the actual banana looks a tastes great, even when the outside has bruises showing.

Marketside organic bananas never disappoint. There are a lot of bananas in a bunch. I like the way the stems are wrapped, probably to stay fresher and slow down the ripening process. I appreciate the tape around the bundle so that the bunch doesn't separate. These details matter! I'm surprised the bananas are actually pretty! Sometimes organic isn't always the prettiest but with these, there are no bruises and the color is a pleasant yellow. It's easy to have a bountiful display of fruit at a phenomenal price for organics by purchasing Marketside. I'll enjoy having these on cereal this week and I'll have plenty available for guests.
