Unit came with a dead battery and defective. Tried charging it with the charger they sent with it and it did absolutely nothing. Put in on a real battery charger and that didn't work. Generac said to put this generator in the trunk of my car and take it to a dealer. I certainly can't do that; it's too heavy and it won't fit. I called an authorized Generac dealer and she said most Generacs come with dead batteries. Even her replacement battery is frequently DEAD. This is the last time I purchase anything from Generac as their product quality is much lower than in years past. NEVER get a generator that can't be started manually with no battery. I will try a Dewalt or Kohler product next time.

This generator is a beast, I haven't had a power outage yet but I ran it for 12 hours on a tank of gas just to try it and it didn't miss a beat, I could run anything in the house with no problems, it's a little expensive but anything that's worth having usually is especially in the winter months in Michigan and I am so glad I have a backup plan 😊

The GP8000E works well for running our whole house. We had an outage for 2 days and were able to run our whole house without any issues. We have a well water pump, AC, refrigerator, freezer, lights, etc. We did not encounter any issues. The portability works well for moving and storage.

Great generator and I've owned several over years. Very much leaning toward it being much stronger than 6500 it's more like an 8500.... Also idk what they're talking about 10.5hrs on a tank I powered my home 19.5hrs on same tank of gas during a several days outage.

Haven't had a real reason to use yet, did try it and worked great, very easy to use and easy on gas.Run my whole garage onit just to see if it would take care of different tools at same time, no problem

This just what I expected it to be. The electric start is wonderful. The handle folds up to move the generator and folds down for storage. Everything is easy accessible and viewable. We have used it twice so far for power outages.

Have powered this up 7 times, lit up the house twice, dependable.... but needs nose abatement technologies applied with off-the-shelf equip. to reduce the decibels.

Living rural, having back up power sources are a must. It's an investment in the tools that helps forced, rustic living tolerable. Consider the top 3 best pieces of equipment and get learned about them. I know you will choose Generac also.

My wife and I bought our Generac about 4 months ago due to all the power outages happening . I am so glad we did it has been the best investment for us to help power the house when the electricity goes off

I haven't had to use it yet. I've started it a few times since it was delivered and am very pleased. The electric start works well. It is easy to start with the cord too. I hope I don't need it this winter, but have it if I do.
