Purchased this portable generator, had a problem with it after 15 min. of running.. Called for assistance and No One would come to my house to repair it. They only would come if it was a standby generator. I like Generac Products but my was 450 pounds and I could not service it myself. Plus it was under warranty.

I bought the GP8000E to replace my Honda 7000 that was over 25 years old. The setup was relatively straight forward except for attaching the battery cables. When I unclipped the zip tie holding the battery leads for shipping, I didnt notice that the power connector for the starter had become disconnected, probably when I cut the zip tie. I called Generac Support as the electric start was not working and they had me check all the connections including the power connector for the starter. I connected it and the generator started right up. I've only had it for a month but I love it as its easy to operate.

I was able to get this generator on sale. So I was able to purchase a larger one than originally intending to buy. It has all the features I need in a portable generator. It was easy to assemble and it started right up after adding fuel. I have not had to use it yet for emergency power but it should be able to handle all of our basic needs.

My generator has worked flawlessly since I purchased it. Unfortunately I have been unable to get it to work as I had intended, which is to run my pool circulation pump during winter power outages. I have verified through multiple electrical experts that my connection from the generator to the pool equipment is correct. My next step is to adjust the Hertz output down to 60 from the 62 it is currently producing. Any direction you can provide me to make that adjustment would be sincerely appreciated.

I worked hard to find a full service dealer and settled on FD-Hayes, Lansing MI and was extremely pleased with their recommendations for this unit, installation and training. I had this installed on a Monday and literally that Thursday we lost power for 4 days and this unit performed admirably. The safety-switch mechanism on the breaker box was foolproof and the electric start was a real help. I ran it about 24 hours on a single tank of gas, it saved my frozen foods and kept my fridges at temp. I didnt use AC and that is not really a problem as I knew going in that AC would not be viable with this unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The generac 9500 is nice. However it is heavy, like 265 lbs. I thought I would be able to use it more but not a lot of opportunity at this point. It stays tucked in the garage. It does make some noise but not as load as my old air compressor. Overall I think it is a good product I just don't have a lot of use for it. I requested it to see if this app would sent me something that big. Knowing Influenster will I will be more targeted in the future. Initial impressions on the 9500 are great. That being said I am not a hard use.

2 of my friends, my sister and I brought the GP6500 Generator 2 days after Hurricane Helene hit our hometown in Georgia September 2024. I assisted 1 of my friend with the assembly process and I assembled both mine and my sister's generator by myself. It was a simple process. Once gas was added to the fuel tank, all of them cranked up on the first pull and stayed running until they either ran out of gas or was turned off manually. The generators was a life saver. They supplied power to what we needed and never failed to perform perfectly. They were used for 6 days before the utility company was able to provide us electricity again. I am now in the process of trying to get a manual transfer switch and power inlet box installed so that I can be more prepared for the next power outage. Thanks Generac.

What a waste of money. Worked great for the first month, now it won't stay running for more than 20 minutes at a time. Any time you put a load on it, it dies. This seems to be especially true if you have to use it on hot days. (Which when you're using it on an RV is when you need it the most).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm really very pleased with this generator. We live on a South Carolina barrier island and we can get hammered during hurricane season. I love that it can run on Gasoline, Liquefied Petroleum Gas or Natural Gas and you can switch between them. It has a large capacity fuel tank and extended run time. The delivery guy was super complimentary of this specific model and Generac in general. This gives us such a sense of security, knowing if a storm knocks our electricity out we'll still be able to run the fridge, lights, tv, electric range, etc. 9500 running watts with gas is more than enough to keep us comfortable. We lost hundreds of dollars in food last season plus, it was SOOO hot. I'm glad we won't have to go through that again. It's easy to set up and easy to use. The fact that it's portable is super convenient, the wheels and handles make it easy to move around. I can move it easily, so can my 71 year old mom. Our handyman says he wants one for working contracting jobs. COsense® Technology gives protection against carbon monoxide. The electric start is a really nice touch. This model has so many nice features, it's a really wonderful unit and the feeling of security makes me wish we got one a long time ago

I purchased about a month ago. Generator arrived in good condition, and unpacking and getting ready to use was well instructed, but a bit more time consuming than I had thought it would be. Only "semi-complaint" is the unit is very loud. It would get a five star from me if the muffler system made the unit a bit more quiet.
