Took my vehicle in to Goodyear service center to diagnose a thumping sound driving at any speed. They determined the tires were cupping at 45,000 miles. These tires have a 70,000 mile warranty. I rotated them every time I had my synthetic oil changed at Walmart, which is more than three months and usually 9000 miles. so basically, the warranty is voided. I never had any problems with Michelin latitudes. Those were awesome- no cupping, no problems. It’s unfortunate that I spent $245 per tire on these defenders and they perform so poorly.

I leave home most the time very early before the sun comes up and travel 70 to 100 miles one way almost every day when I'm in town and reliability is very important to me and my family. When I'm out of town my wife's truck has the same tires and it makes us sleep at night knowing we can depend on our travel with Michelin tires. Win lose or draw we appreciate the efforts by Michelin to produce a dependable and reliable product. Thank you from me and my family

I have had Michelin LTX M/S tires on my Yukon since 2003, I have 200,000 miles on my vehicle and are on my third set of Michelin's. They are the best tire I have ever had and will buy nothing but them. I do a lot of highway driving and the ride, handling, and stability in the rain are perfect. I strongly recommend these tires to anyone who owns an SUV is looking fro a great tire. You will not be disappointed with the Michelins. I get 70,000 miles from these tires and never ever have any problems.

One of our vehicles is a Buick Rainer CXL-V8, all wheel drive. The first 71,000 miles were on the "factory Michelins" with no problems. My wife travels with the Rainer for work, so wanted peace of mind for the next 70,000+ miles. We are now 40,000 miles into the new Michelins with no problems, a good ride and excellant wear. Two of our vehicles are over 105,000 miles, one with Michelins ( and extremely happy ) and one waiting for a good set of Michelins. The 3rd vehicle is at 215,000 miles, riding on its 3rd set of Michelin tires. The ONLY tire to My vehicles.

Have my Defenders now for just about 3000 miles on a 4Runner. Not the off-road tire, no - but for 99% of my travels, these tires are great. Smooth ride and they feel sure planted. No snow yet .... Rain driving, I didn't feel any risk or anything. They seem to react better when it was wet out. Very Happy with my purchase.

Smooth and Quiet - Excellent Traction Just put a set on my wife's Grand Cherokee Ltd. . So far, excellent handling on any road type, quiet and secure feeling while driving at any speed. Have M/S's on my Commander and love them too. Best tire for endurance, range and quality for the price.

I have been buying Michelin LTX tires for many years now too include the MS/2 version. Without hesitation the LTX MS/2 were the best tires I have ever seen put on a truck. However with the advent of their new Defender series, I can honestly say they are the worst LTX tires they have ever made, they just will not balance out, the more I drive them the more they shake and shimmy. Last pair of LTX MS/2 had 115,000 miles on them, my 2002 Z71 Tahoe... LT285/70/17. The old tires had a better ride than the new tires do, (Defenders)... Shame, time to find another tire and manufacturer, never thought I would be saying that about the LTX Dave

Bought these for my wife's explorer sport '02. wanted something to be able to handle wet roads as well as slight off-road conditions. Very pleased at the ride quality, low road noise and wet, lick, road handleing. Took it off-road and was very impressed. Massive mud puddle with no wheel spin at all. I feel very safe with my wife behind the wheel now.

I read about these tires, and that they were of a harder rubber....I wanted a tire that would last, but accepted the rougher ride. These were on my 2000 Ford Ranger, and lasted longer than any tire I had previously owned. In the rain and light snow ther performed very well, enabling me to get uphill to my house!

I purchased these tires for a Escape Hybrid in November. These tires replaced the Michelin Lattitude Tour series (which is no longer offered in this size) based on Michelin's recommendations. These tires are essentially a light truck tire with extra load capacity, so the ride quality is notably harsh and there is more tread noise at low speeds. The total rolling resistance is considerably higher, lowering the Average Fuel Economy on the Escape by over 8 MPG. This tire is a good choice for light trucks and larger heavier SUV's, but a poor choice for smaller SUV's or hybrids.
