This is a good-looking trash can and I like the step to open the lid and the removable insert which makes it easy to remove trash bags when needed or simply empty the trash at all if you're using it for something you don't need trsh bags for. Overall, though, I don't recommend buying this trash can. The step on ours broke (doesn't lift the lid anymore) after about a year. For a while before that, it wasn't consistently lifting the lid when you stepped on it. I also don't like how there are several very-hard-to-clean nooks and crannies around the hinge mechanism that collect gunk and crumbs. The exterior also seems to become harder and hard to clean as time passed. If you're in a house with only adults who are going to handle the trash can well, you'll probably have no problems. But, if you have kids who won't always treat it gently and carefully empty trash into it, I don't recommend this one.

We have used this bin in our kitchen for a year. It’s build quality and durability are both great but we are getting rid of it due to a massive design issue. The hinge is outside and sticks out from the bin. The lid sticks out behind that even further when it goes up. This means that you cannot have the bin against the wall. If you do it will not open without scraping and scuffing your wall. It’s so unfortunate that they didn’t do a design with the hinge inside. If you don’t need the bin to be within three inches of a wall you are good, but if you have it anywhere that it will be close to a wall be prepared to see wall damage.

I have wanted this for years. Waited until my plastic can broke. It's large and fits well in my kitchen. Lid is soft close and easy to open. after checking other sources found that Sam's Cub had the best price and it was delivered to my car without ever going into the store. A real value!

This was our first hands-free trash can. It sits at the end of a counter in our kitchen so we wanted something that would look nice and be easy to use ... and it fit the bill. It was the most expensive trash can we've ever purchased by far, but we thought we would be able to use it for a long time. After about 5 years, though, the plastic lever piece weakened and then snapped. Sadly, it does not look to be repairable.

I like the shape of the can- it fits close to the wall, and the fact that opening the lid is hands free. Unfortunately the foot pedal opening mechanism just doesn't hold up. The last 2 purchased have failed within months of purchase and upon examination, the plastic mechanism connecting the lid to the foot pedal has been made so cheaply that it is destined to fail. We have been purchasing this trash can for a number of years and previous ones took 2 or more years to break- the latest ones fail within months. I will not be purchasing this anymore and am researching for replacements that have a lid that does not require opening with hands.

Really like this trash can. So far it keeps odors away. I prefer the step kind over the sensor ones. Easy to replace bags and clean the inside. Sam's delivered quickly, packaged very well no issues and price was very affordable. Plus I love the copper color. Thank you Sam's!

great size. great color. quiet close. This can is everything I need it to be. Why did I wait so LONG to replace my nearly 16-year-old kitchen trash can? I'm glad I ordered online as several color choices were available rather than in-store. Can arrived in perfect condition.

It looks like someone had used the trashcan before. It had no plastic to take off as indicated in the directions. There was also some grime on it. Also, the box did not arrive in the greatest shape. Lastly, there was no paperwork in the box. It's disappointing that Sam's is not monitoring returned items.

I purchased the red trash can and I am thrilled with the way it looks. Ive had the silver one in my laundry room for several years that I pull out during birthdays, barbecues etc. and it still looks good %26 functions well. The packaging is very impressive! The company really makes sure you receive the product in excellent condition.

it worked well for about two years then the pedal broke. the plastic pedal mechanism will fail sooner or later. you cannot fix the plastic lever when it breaks. i tried. to use the trash can you have to lift the lid by hand. the stainless steel is low quality and will rust over time. it is not worth the price in my opinion.
