I've owned this trash can for almost 3 years now. The pedal for opening the can broke. I looked underneath and the mechanism is all plastic. This is not designed to last.

This is one of the best prices for a good looking 13 gal stainless steel trash can. The bottom plastic will break for sure. But I was able to superglue it and use if for 2 more years.

I bought this after getting a dog who like to open my cabinet to get to my trash. It’s a great value and really well made. She can’t open it and is taller than the can. Looks good with my other ss appliances.

I honestly did not read the entire description when I ordered this however I was shocked to learn that it was self closing! Gah! Absolutely my favorite can ever. I purchased the black one and so wish I had a need for another one.

Bought the black one last year and it's fantastic. I don't use the scented inserts, since my bags are scented, but I recommend this product. Suggest keeping from direct sunlight for fading like it mentions.

We bought this trash can and really like the looks of it, but after some time we noticed that the foot petal wasn’t quite working right and over time it just got worse. Today I flipped the trash can over to see if I could figure out what the problem was. I discovered that the foot pedal was actually cracking along the pivot bar. I guess the pressure over time just made it start to crack. You would think that the foot petal would have been reinforced by a metal plate instead of just being plastic.

The feature I least enjoy is the small opening under the lid that allows trash to collect. I fold and stuff a plastic shopping bag in space to keep from having to clean out debris from trash that misses the bag. Recently, a loud pop occurred, when using foot lever, which resulted in lid slamming trash away. The foot lever is useless. So disappointed, color matched my black stainless steel appliances.

I have now bought this trashcan two times. The first trashcan I bought lasted two years before the step to open the lid broke. I purchased it again thinking maybe I just bought a defected one for it to one last 2 years. The second one I bought lasted less than a year. The same thing happened I went to go step on the lever to open up the lid and it broke.

The trash can itself is a nice quality and pretty sturdy, but the shipping is terrible. The can is packaged well enough, but was delivered with a big dent in the side. I sent it back for a replacement which was also delivered with a dent. My account said the item was not returnable even though it was only a few days from the original order. It's on the back side and my husband was able to pound it out most of the way so you really can't see it, but that's not the point. I shouldn't have to keep a damaged item.

I have this trash can for about 2 years and it’s a great trash can, all u can say about it is that 1, the lid needs cleaning ever now and then and the bin part that you can pull up to put the bag easily, that needs some rethinking, I pulled it out of place once and I was able to put it back in place but took some effort. I say to make it so the peddle/step makes it so the bin goes higher.
