I love the packaging, stores so perfectly in our fridge. As for the actual taste, it works well with all our cooking needs and I prefer a spread as opposed to a stick anyways.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm just going to come right out and say it, I prefer butter. However, after trying the Country Crock Original, my kids say they love it. According to them, it spreads easier (anything to get the food to their mouths faster), it's creamy, and it tastes good. I used it to bake cookies today and it worked out very well. I like all that scientific stuff; no artificial preservatives, no trans fats, no cholesterol, but it really comes down to taste & texture. I still plan to use butter for most things, but I think I'll keep some Country Crock on hand for the kiddos.

I loved the round tubs of the original Country Crock and the flavor it had. This new square tub I don't like and the flavor is so different and changes the flavor of whatever you put it in for the worse. I always bought the biggest tub of original crock butter at least 1 a month and sometime 2 tubs a month. I want the tubs back with that flavor that enhanced the flavor in everything you put it in.

Both of my sons have a dairy intolerance so we can't use real butter. My choice for a dairy alternative is country crock. It has great flavor, I can't really taste the difference. My kids love it and it's great to always have on hand for meals. Been buying it for a long time, definitely recommend

I only noticed the container shape at first and not that the recipe had changed. I used it in a pasta dish and it was so yummy! Such a rich buttery taste. I find it odd that many do not like it by the reviews. My whole family loves it and agrees that it has a stronger buttery taste. This is great for me because normally I "overdo" it to get that strong taste! ha ha Downside,now I can't stop eating grill cheese sandwiches!

When I first opened my original country crock I took a nice whiff of it and noticed how much it smelled like butter. That excited me because one reason why I dislike spreads that are like margarine is because I love and am so used to butter products that when I use products like this I only notice the oil flavors and scents. I did taste a little bit of it and was disappointed to see that it did taste more like the oily margarine types that I do not like. However, I did cook some veggies with it and it came out delicious! They tasted very light and I didnt feel like what I was eating was heavy as I do with butter and other margarine products. The product itself was so creamy which is great for mixing with other ingredients and not having to wait for it to soften. Overall, I like this product for cooking. I recently saw a picture of someone who spread this on their toast. That is not something I would enjoy, but I do recommend this product for cooking and baking.
