I tried this because it came with a voxbox and other family members use this brand and like it! Overall, it was good, I wish it were organic! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's OK. Kind of waxy when you put it on bread alone. It's good to cook with because it works almost the same as butter, but that's all I would use it for. It doesn't taste the same as butter when you spread it on bread,muffins,waffles etc. I like that there's always coupons available for it, that's something you can't find for regular butter. I'll buy it if there's a deal for it, but if there isn't then I'll be sticking to my usual. I received this product free for testing, but all opinions stated are my own.

I've eaten Country Crock all my life - it WAS the only butter I liked. I loved the new container but didn't know you had also changed the ingredients. I noticed my eggs tasted funny and then my green beans, plus several other foods that I used Country Crock. I thought it was just me but my neighbor brought it to my attention that the ingredients had changed along with the packaging. Why??? I hope this is like the "New Coke" from back in the day, where they realized they had made a mistake and changed it back to the original. Please! This new Country Crock has a very strong smell and taste that is not pleasant and I can't buy it anymore. Now I have to find a new butter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a child when I used to come home from school there were two things I loved 1. fresh baked cookies 2. an amazing loaf of fresh baked bread and country crock - Tasting the original country crock brought me back to those days and I am so happy to give my children this experience now too. It tastes amazing and although I initially received these products complimentary for testing purposes I kept on buying.

I don't know how you expect to simply just change the recipe, and expect people to follow suit. People are used to the original taste, and now you're just changing it?? Makes no sense. It's a VERY different taste!! I'm looking for something else now. Whoever made this decision should be canned!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Normally I cook with unsalted butter because I like to have most of the control over the salt content of the food that I cook. Though I did find the Country Crock Original to be very salty, I did really love the flavor of the butter. Though I would prefer to cook with regular butter, I think that for things like pancakes, waffles, and toast- where you would want a distinct butter flavor, this was superior to butter. I tried this spread on pancakes and toast and I much preferred it to regular butter because I was able to use less to get a butter flavor and the spread-ability was far superior. When I used butter on the pancakes, I had to melt it to the point of being liquified and then it just made things soggy. I think it's nice to have this at home as an alternative when I need it as a flavoring and not just as a cooking component.

I received a 1lb. tub of country crock original, in a Vox box. I did receive this absolutely free with the purpose of trying and reviewing. This is a great product. I compared it to my current margarine and not only was County Crock original better tasting it was easy to spread even straight from the fridge.

I also tried it on a piece of sourdough toast and it spread so well -even when it was cold! There's the butters that skip and make your bread look awful when you spread it, and then there's Country Crock. I know you're probably not supposed to use it like that, but just letting you know. Anyways, in the cookie recipe, it turned out fantastically! I thought it was going to be awful, but it made the cookies softer, and it wasn't like an awful oil slick either - it was just right.

Even though it changed from a round to square container they didn't change the taste. It is delicious and easy to spread on toast, in mashed potatoes, bagels, used in recipes in place of butter. I use it for anything that requires butter.

I was very excited to try this Country Crock product, and can't wait to make cookies with it. So far, I have eaten it on toast and used it in several recipes. It is smooth, creamy and has a great flavor. Will buy again!
