First of all, been using Country Crock for well over 20 years. This is the first time I have ever had mold grow in my butter! It was the "new" lid, which doesn't fasten well at all. We thought the taste was from the mold so we threw it and got a new one. Same funky taste in there - doesn't bake very well anymore either. Very disappointed about the entire change.

I especially love baking sugar cookies! I've been using Country Crock buttery spread for over 20 years! I always purchase it and I always tell my friends and family that they should buy it. The value of this spread is amazing and wonderful and it's not expensive at all.

I am very particular when it comes to margarines/spreads because I despise the taste of butter. Have a hard time finding a margarine because plenty of them taste like butter. When I found Country Crock "original" I fell in love! Now apparently the shape of the tub has been changed so that it is easier to fit in a refrigerator. I opened it up and spreaded it on my bagel as I do every morning, took one bite and spit it out and also threw out the bagel. Why would you change the taste? There are different varieties, i.e. calcium, churn style, etc., which all have a different taste than the original, all of which I can't eat because those do have a buttery taste. Now this simple recipe tastes just like the other styles. Please bring the real original back!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoy using country crock when cooking. I don't think it is too oily and leaves a nice buttery taste! The spreadable container makes it easy for every day use and easy storage. I hate finding a place for sticks of margarine or butter!

I normally don't write reviews but felt I had to after reading many of the other reviews. Truly disappointed with the new recipe. I have been buying Country Crock for over 15 years and it was all that my children knew, but then recipe changed. It doesn't taste the same and doesn't melt the same either. It separates and clumps. I bought the big tub and had to throw it away because it was so bad. I even searched other stores in the hope that they still had the REAL original recipe on the shelves but alas they did not, and I will have to look for a replacement. Must say that I'm disappointed about the canned response that is being given about how important the customers are when it doesn't seem to be the case. I've looked at the reviews and many of the positive ones received incentives for their review, so it's hard to believe they are sincere. I just hope that you will listen to your TRUE AND (formerly) LOYAL CUSTOMERS and at least make it an option between the REAL original recipe and NEW recipe that is so not the original.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For some reason, I had it in my head that Country Crock was less tasty than other spreadable butter products. I remember liking the commercials from when I was little, but not liking the taste. I either was completely wrong or my tastebuds have just developed a personality. I taste-tested Country Crock's original spread... and it was creamy and delicious. It was so smooth and tasty! I was pleasantly surprised! I know this seems like a weird thing to comment on... but I also like the size and shape of the container... fits my fridge better than others. I was also impressed with the spreadability of Country Crock, and my family loved it too. All in all, I'm thrilled with the Country Crock spread and will be buying this again! I'm actually excited to try the light too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This butter is great for the price and value but I would not use it for important things you are baking I would simply use it to butter cookie sheets or stubborn pans when you are making a grilled cheese or making scrambled eggs.
