To slice , turn flat side up, start cut on far end slowly and good bread knife is needed, longer blade is best

The old 4 pack of sourdough was infinitely better tasting, more convenient (I froze it), and a better value. Why would you do this Sam's club? You're breaking my heart.

Perfectly sour and the texture is great, the crust is not too leathery! You can't beat the price and the ingredients are very few as sourdough should be. Highly recommend this bread.

These are advertised as bread BOWLS, but they are entire LOAVES of sourdough bread. I ordered them for curbside pick-up, and was shocked to see the amount of bread they brought out to my car!

This has a good flavor and is very versatile. As someone with digestive issues I appreciate that Sam's offers sourdough which is gentle on the stomach. My only complaints are that I thought it used to come 2 to a pack? and I do wish they offered a sliced version as it is no small task to slice it up. Excellent cut up and toasted in the oven with melted cheese.

The sourdough bread at Sam’s is great, period. We are 2 retirees & sincerely miss the 4-pack of sourdough boules. Buying the large boule just doesn’t make sense for us. With the large boules we have to eat the sourdough for days in a row or the bread will go stale. The small boules afforded us the delight of sharing a single one for breakfast with often just a crust left to share with our conure.We will not be buying the large boule. I hope Sam's considers bringing the 4-pack back.

Bread has an odd smell...like some type of oil on the crust but there is no oil in the recipe. It has the sour flavor but the interior is very crumbly and is not good for making a sandwich. The crust is tough and hard to slice so using this as a bread bowl may be a better use. I may return it and definitely won't buy it again.

This is a real find for the price of ~$4/loaf. One caveat is that whoever bakes this Member's Mark item for Sam's Club needs to find a more user friendly closure for the poly bag (e.g. twist tie?). The tape closure makes reusing the bag for the remaining portion of the loaf worthless, because the tape closure and bag must be cut to get the bread out. The bread itself makes spectacular sourdough french toast, BTW.

Great to make sandwiches with or just eat by itself

This is always fresh and tasty. It’s my husband’s favorite.
