Confused in Hattiesburg, MS

I love these walnuts, have purchased them many times but as I check the Sam's club app, it says their only available through shipping. Why?

Lower quality

Too many overly dark and "tiny walnuts". And my bag looks post-nutgrinder. I can't imagine them being shipped.

Rancid Walnuts

I purchased this 3 lb bag of Member's Mark shelled walnuts on July 5th, 2025, with a Best if Used By date of Feb 11, 2026. Unfortunately, I could smell that they were rancid upon opening the bag. I requested a refund and discarded the nuts.

Not Always Good

I have been ordering walnuts from Sam's Club for years, and twice now I have gotten a bag that probably 1/3 of the nuts are really bad--probably rancid. I was able to get a refund, but I am afraid to ever order them again. I will say that the ones that were not ruined were really good, tasty, and fresh. It seems that old nuts must have been mixed with new ones. So sad.

Not WHOLE Walnuts Anymore

These are NOT WHOLE WALNUTS ANYMORE. These are at best halves, plus lots of pieces and tons of crumbs. We have been buying bagged whole walnuts from Sams for years. If Sams is trying to drive long-term (over 25years) customers away-- this is the way to do it. This is at least the fifth product change made by Sams to our usual product choices over the past 2-3 years. Products we USED to get at Sams: Coffee Beans- dropped Atlantic Salmon fillets- out of stock for ages. Had to find alternate source. Now in stock under Member's Mark brand. Too early to tell if as good as previous product. Atlantic Cod Fillets- out of stock for ages, finally replaced with inferior product, then changed to an ok product now under Member's Mark brand. DiGiorno pizza- Out of stock multiple times in a row, was informed that product was dropped, but now have Member's Mark brand similar. Replacement is awful. Now buying elsewhere.

Stale rancid walnuts

We have purchased this product regularly for 35 years. We use a lot of walnuts in baking and for snacking. In the past, this product was consistently dependably good. Not so much lately as we've had a few bags go rancid soon after purchase and well before the expiration date. Sam's customer service desk has always taken the rancid nuts back with a refund, which is appreciated, but we suspect that this ongoing problem may be caused by faulty storage conditions before the nuts reach store shelves. We theorize that excessive heat during storage might be causing the problem. Sam's should check its own storage as well as how their suppliers are handling the product before it reaches the warehouse.

Very Small Pieces

I purchase walnuts for my parrots. This was the first time that I had purchased this version of the Member's Mark brand. I have to say I am very very disappointed in them. The pieces are so small that the birds can barely hold them in their foot to eat them. I'm sure they're probably fine if you're baking with them but if you're looking for a larger pieces of walnuts to use in a dessert or for snacking, you're going to have to look elsewhere. I will not be buying these again.

It was bad. Most of it if not all was much much darker than normal. It seems as almost rotten.
