Bought this for my 4 wheeler. It is a great unit, it was bolt on to a can am Outlander. The polarity can be changed in 3 minutes flat, and the motor winding wire diameter is a good large size. Compared to a Badlands from Harbor Freight the wires in the winding are twice the diameter so they won't burn out under heavy load. I have used it pretty hard a couple times and it does the job.

The first two (2) a 2,000 lb. and 2,500 Winches we purchased were from Harbor Freight we still have another from them a 2,000 Winch first 2,000 winch switch went bad it would roll in but not out.....had to free wheel it after a while.... the 2,500 we got it on a Friday tried it out it went out O.K in rolled in O.K but when you rolled out or in it did not want to stop when you let off of the switch it wanted to roll in or out an extra 3 inches or so. Two days later on a Sunday when we needed to use it....it would not work at all....So Wednesday we took it back. ( Plus all 3 including the one still in use on my 4x4 4 wheeler is very noisy almost like grinding like noise ) All 3 were priced at over $100.00 but was running on Sale for $49 and $59 when we bought them. Exchanged the 2 bad ones. Bought one from Wal-Mart.com the Champion Power 3,000 Pound Winch runs smoothly....Super Quiet.... was SUPRISED on how Quiet it was compared to the Harbor Freight ones ( Badlands brand ) I GUARANTEE when mine goes bad from Harbor Freight ( the one I have on my 4x4 4 Wheeler ) I will come back and buy one for my 4 wheeler. Pay the extra $30 to $40 for a Real good Super Quiet Winch the extra $$$ will be worth it.

Hard to believe you can buy a winch of this good quality for such a great price. You will not find a better deal. I previously bought an off brand winch for my ATV and it lasted about 10 pulls. The mounted bolts, rollers, winch parts where all smaller than this champion winch. I am impressed with the power this little winch has.

I use this product to get me out of tough situations on my ATV. The installation was straightforward although I did make a few modifications to the brackets that mount to the frame. My first time out resulted in towing my buddy out of a mud whole while deer hunting. The winch worked like a champ. Oh yea, we did manage to harvest a few deer.

I bought this to replace a winch on my 4wheeler that I use for a snowplow. Overall it is great product at a great price. It is more powerful, smoother and quiet than the winch I replaced. I also really like the clutch control, very easy to grip. The hardware that came with it worked well and installed easily. Only knock I have was the size of the remote, just seems a little oversized.

I'm using the Winch on my Polaris ATV to plow snow. So far I've only had to use it three times. At the end of March,1st of April, when our Minnesota Winter is over I'll know better if I can bump the Rating Star from a 4 to a 5. So far (5) looks pretty good. Time will tell!

Mounted this winch on my Yamaha Kodiak. It's sold as a winch kit, but can't be mounted to the ATV without the ATV specific mounting plate. The small mounting plate they supply as a "winch kit" is worthless and does not fit onto the ATV mounting plate, or to the ATV itself. Guess you could use it to mount the winch to a board or something. Controls are large and slightly cumbersome, we'll see how they hold up. Winch cable wants to unwind off spool when no pressure is applied, Could cause some snarls if not watching it on the retrieve. Will probably switch out with winch rope. Winch works and sounds fine. Definitely has power. So far, I would recommend it and purchase it again.
