Large and ok taste

We give up. We’ve bought several of these over the years and it’s hit and miss if they will be cooked through or not. The last couple have been basically raw in the middle. We are done. Will make our own or buy something different.

DONT BUY this was the 2nd pie i purchased i dont know if they changed the recipe but as soon as you cut it take a pie out it goes to crap also doughy very disappointed

One of the best store bought pies have eaten, however the last few pies I have purchased have been underbaked, the bottom crust has been raw and the whole pie has been soggy.

I have purchased 4-5 of these pies, and the last two were underbaked with several gummy parts of the crust that was, frankly, disgusting. The apples were not done enough and it was overly sweet the last two times. The first few apple pies we got were great. Then, something happened. The first time we got a bad one, I thought it was just a fluke. But sadly, this most recent (and last) purchase was awful too. I wasn't hungry when I first opened and served it. The next night, I couldn't understand why nobody wanted another slice. I tasted it for the first time, and knew why. The rest of the pie was tossed in the trash. What a waste.

As I was eating some of this wonderful pie, I realized I'd never reviewed it online. So now I am. I'm a great fan of fruit pies, %26 have eaten many, of many varieties %26 styles. I frequently tell people that these apple pies are among the very best I've ever had. And the value can't be beat. Only possible complaint: they're Very big! Fortunately, the solution (for us) is to cut up the pie into pieces of various sizes %26 then freeze much of it to enjoy later. One of my favorite items at Sam's.

The best apple pie I've eaten. Just like homemade. Used to only purchase the chocolate pie, but they changed it from past years and threw away my purchase after waiting months for it to return. Too bad Sam's doesn't take notice of the current 62% one star reviews and go back to what the majority liked. Hopefully they will leave this apple pie alone.

I tried many retail grocers apple pies but nothing compares to Sam's Honeycrisp Apple pie, The filling is not too dry or too jelly; the crust not under or overbaked. As for the lattice crust, it is brushed with some sort of sugary egg wash which results in a firm and crisp topping that is not soggy when baked to warm it up. The crust overall is not buttery but still flaky, although the edges of the pie can be abit dry but makes up for it with the apple filling as you indulge with spoon or fork. The apples are not too hard or too mushy, just perfectly tender with a bite in between. Cinnamon and sugar ratio of the filling seems more on the sweeter side, as there is hardly any tartness due to the apple variety which I conclude can be enjoyed alone with tea/coffee or paired with ice cream if your sweet tooth insist. Overall, this type of pie is perfect to introduce to a beginner who never had apple pie in their life as the honeycrisp variety welcomes a pleasant and sweet introduction to the palette. 8/10; would enjoy again and be part of our staple if needed.

I've bought the apple lattice pies for years and noticed today that they are no longer available, but have been replaced with this honeycrisp version. It is so inferior to the old pie, I won't be purchasing again. Too sweet, too doughy, not enough apples. Just.Plain.Bad.
