One of the best bourbons money can buy.

I am a Wild Turkey man through and through. Even though I enjoy a plethora of different bourbons from other distilleries, I always come back to Wild Turkey products with a smile on my face. For over 30 years, all I would drink was Wild Turkey 101, and why not. It is the hands down best seller among bourbons, period. But when i tried the Russell's Reserve Single Barrel..... wow, was I impressed. Notes of honey, caramel and toffee greet your palate up front, then at mid palate, a notes of oak come through and it finishes with that Wild Turkey note of pepper and cinnamon on the finish. This, in my opinion is one of the best examples of bourbon on the market today. I couldn't recommend this offering more.

Excellence is an understatement

There are many bottles of bourbon but only one Russel reserve. Had the pleasure to purchase a RR pick by Sam’s club 8year 115 proof and it was Best bourbon everrrrrrr! Honey caramel with flower notes vanilla at the end not sure who is doing the picking but good job. I do regret not buying more.

Used to love these years ago, but less so now

I've been a fan and purchaser of Russell's Reserve Single Barrels for many years now. These were the gold standard for single barrel/private pick barrels across the bourbon spectrum. But they're not what they used to be and they're also far more expensive, i.e. $60 back when, $100 now.

My personal favorite bourbon

I have never had a bad poor of the Russell’s 10 year single barrel bourbon. I’m a really big fan of the loch and key expressions that Julio’s liquors puts out. Ryan Malone and his crew always pick a really good barrel. That being said it is always good even if it’s not in the store pic. I love it me and I love it in an old fashion or boulevardier.

Great Bottle at a great Value

I have had several bottles of this and for the money it’s hard to find anything better on the shelves readily available. Lots of flavor and proof. You’ll know from the first waft from the glass the nose carries a nice punch of flavor and aroma setting the tone for what’s about to hit your palate. Classic Bourbon notes with elevated vanilla and cinnamon. A nice citrus (lemon) note as well. Great finish. I recommend this to friends and family as one of my staples.

Russells Reserve SiBs

I have had several of these magnificent offerings over the last couple years and I am never disappointed. I will offer my tasting notes for the last one I opened which was a 9 year from Warehouse TYR-M Barrel # 22-0585 Color: Reddish Amber Nose: Minty, Hay or Cut Grass. A bit of Rye Spice in the form of Allspice as well. Palate: Rich oily mouthfeel that coated my tongue nicely. Cherrybomb with mint in the background. Flavors melded well together! Some Rye spice on the back of my tongue was tingling but not hot. Finish: Oily and Creamy with a nice medium finish that was in the upper chest area - right where it should be. A pleasant bakers chocolate in the backround that finished somewhat dry but enjoyable none the less. Summary: Very enjoyable, well balanced, full bodied offering that I am always happy to buy when I find them. Keep making these fine Bourbons and Ill keep buying them! Cheers!

Great bourbon for a tasting night.

I was able to get ahold of this bottle about two weeks ago. Some of my buddies that I drink bourbon with have never tried. The review from our group was a good balance and not too sweet of notes. Great job Russel Reserve. I can’t wait for a special occasion to open my single rick house bottle.

Perfect blend of age and abv.

I can't remember the first time I bought a bottle of this, but I have been buying it for years. This is a bottle I always keep on my shelf, and I like to enjoy when I want something with a little more bite to it. When I want something that's a bit smoother and lower in alcohol, then I prefer the Russell's Reserve 10-year which is also excellent.

Big, Bold, and Bourbon Done Right

As someone who’s always had a soft spot for Wild Turkey, Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel feels like coming home, but with a little more edge and maturity. This bottle just hits right from the pour, you get those deep, familiar notes caramel, toasted oak, a bit of brown sugar, and that classic Wild Turkey spice that I can’t get enough of at 110 proof but it’s not trying to knock your socks off with heat either. The balance is spot on. On the palate, it’s rich and layered, sweet vanilla, dark fruit, a little leather, and that bold spice that lets you know it means business. The finish is Long, warm, and satisfying. It’s the kind of pour that makes you pause and appreciate what you’re drinking. Honestly, if you’re into Wild Turkey the way I am, this bottle is a no-brainer. It’s everything I love, just dialed in with extra depth. Always happy to have this one on my shelf.

Russell Single Barrel

Great sipper, but I wouldn't purchase it over the normal 10 year which is a true amazing value. The reason being is you know nothing about the Barrel. There is nothing that indicates a $30 mark up other than the words single Barrel. I'm not sure why, put the house, floor, Barrel, age. Let people know what they are drinking. For this reason, I would rather buy a Kentucky Spirit all day long. Don't get me wrong, a Russel 10 is a 5 every day, but this is $30 more and you know zilch about the Barrel.
