Quintessential Bourbon

Beautiful rye spice and charred oak combine with sweet caramel chews. Leather, tobacco, and toffee further mingle in. The nose predicts the palate accurately, as it is rich and full-bodied, showcasing a flavor profile that is quintessential Wild Turkey.

You get what you pay for!

This is the most expensive RR product I've been able to find in VA. It's definitely better than the 10 year in my opinion. I'm looking forward to getting better bottles like the 13 year or 15 year. Each step up in price has been a step up in the product. I can't say that of all the brands I've tried.

Best Bang For Your Buck!

The bourbon scene today can be, for a lack of a better word, overwhelming. Those who are just getting into it have more choices than they can possibly imagine and don’t know where to start, while others who have been around a while are surprised with the endless price hiking and scarcity of their once daily selections. For me, one of the bottles that stands out is Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel, whichever store pick is available. RRSB is almost always available and sells for around $60, depending on the store and pick. At 110 proof it hits a palette sweet spot for me with a rich long finish that doesn’t disappoint. 8 out of 10 times when I’ve been adventurous enough to try a new brand or release for an absurd $100 price point, I end up wishing I’d just used that money towards a couple RRSB bottles. There are just too many choices out there today, especially new ones who try to charge ridiculous pricing and use non sensical marketing terms like “Small Batch” to move their product. We actually need to start talking about bad whiskey releases and protect the consumer both new and experienced. However, RRSB won’t disappoint you!

JB’s Review

A couple of years ago, I tried Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel 8-10 Year for the first time and was instantly blown away! This bourbon has since become a staple in my home, thanks to its rich blend of vanilla and caramel flavors, crowned with a delightful crème brûlée finish. It’s fantastic to find such a high-quality bourbon at an affordable price. Kudos to Wild Turkey for crafting such a remarkable bourbon that’s both delicious and wallet-friendly. Highly recommend!

Must Have

Having taken the Wild Turkey Immersion tour with Bo I now appreciate this bourbon even more. You simply can't buy a better product under $100, and to be sure you can spend more and still not get a better bottle. I like it better than the 10 year and its only a few bucks more.

Best of the Best

I make it a habit to buy any RR SiB Store pucks whenever I come across them. For about 75 Dollars they hold their own against other allocated stuff thats far more rare. These are always a beautiful Amber color in my glass, Crystal Clear and beautiful Amber… On the nose: First sniff you can immediately tell that this is a high proof, high rye Bourbon. These are all a bit different as they vary by barrel - But they mostly have similar taste profilez: Cherry bombs, Grassy, sometimes minty and most times have a maple syrup finish that I cant get enough of…. The finish leaves your mouth coated with a warm creamy texture thats both satisfying and pleasant. These babues pack some Rye spice heat! So I understand if these may be too spicy for some - But I love the burn on both my tongue and in my chest, which is typically long and warm! In summary, these are a homerun by anyone who loves the Russell style of whiskey! Keep making it - and Ill keep buying it!

One of the best that is attainable

While single barrels vary from barrel to barrel, Russell’s reserve single barrel iterations always hit home well. You always get typical Wild Turkey flavors in a 10 year version with that Russell twist. Prices continue to creep up, which is a little disappointing, but it is a 10 year Single barrel bourbon. Won’t stock this as much as I have in the past, but always a solid recommendation to anyone getting into bourbon. At 110 proof, it’s right in the sweet spot to dilute a bit or drink neat (as I prefer).

Another Single Barrel Winner

Tried both the 10 year and the Single Barrel. Both were good, but the Single Barrel left an impression. Changed my path through the bourbon world to a barrel proof track. Easily recommend to anyone. Currently on the hunt for a bottle of the 13 year.

O good memories

My very first bottle of Russell’s Single barrel bourbon was something real special. When I first opened it, it juggled a good memory of a long time past. It reminded of sitting in my grandmother’s kitchen waiting for the cookies to be finished baking. That warm feeling of vanilla extract, cinnamon sugar, and butter on the nose brings all that joy back to me. I helped few of my buddies get the same bottle when I described to them and boy, we had a great time. I always hope for the next future batches to bring me back to that moment again.
