Santa brought this for my 10 and 8 year old. They were blown away with the controls and the number of games. It was a huge hit with the whole family. After a day or two I was a little disappointed with lack of recognizable titles, and some of the controls on the classics like pac-man and DigDug. However, what is included on the system is just the beginning. I had watched videos of connecting a Raspberry Pi board (with RetroPi), and was excited to try and dig into this with the kids. In the process I discovered you can add your own Roms (NES, SNES, etc) very easily through a package utility, and now I’m not sure I need a Raspberry Pi. I converted all my favorite roms to the required Add On packages, and now Im introducing my kids to Street Fighter II, Contra, Life Force, Zelda, and all my favorite titles with rewind and save states! This is an incredible learning opportunity for kids and parents, for the price of a couple legos. I highly recommend to anyone with some understanding of roms, and a desire to learn more.
