Poor milage before replacement

My son replaced the factory original tires on his Toyota Tundra Crew cab with these tires. They did not last more than 25,000 miles before they needed to be replaced. He gave the truck to me when it had 14.000 miles. It has 47,000 now The gas millage and handling were normal but the poor millage obtained is making me replace them with a different tire It seems that every other revied here has the same complaint :-(

Great Tire

These were the original tires on my Dodge Ram 2500. I put 80,000 miles on them and could have gotten more, but I replaced them because it was getting close to winter. I put another set of Rugged Trail T/A's and have 50,000 miles them. They still have a lot of tread, won't be replacing them anytime soon.

So Far, So Good

I purchased these tires to replace the original Continentals on my 2004 Trailblazer EXT 4wd at about 70k miles. I have put a little over 40k on them with no issues. They make a little more noise than the Continentals, but that is expected from a more aggresive tread pattern. They are comfortable on the highway and have handled well in all conditions. I've never hydroplaned or lost traction in any condition. Drove to work this morning in 1" of snow with no problems. Even in last year's blizzard I rarely had to use 4wd. There is more than half tread left, so I expect to get another 30k or 40k out of them. I purchased these at [@] for $200 less than the local retailer (for the set) and am very pleased. I will purchase another BFGoodrich product.

Thumbs up Michelin with the Defender 2

I bought the Michelin Defender 2 with a $100 rebate in March 2023. Changed over to Michelin X-Ice for the winter. I highly recommend the Defender 2. It handled well and is very quiet. I've just changed back from the X-Ice to the Defender 2 so this will be my second summer on these tires. I'm sure they will be great all spring, summer and fall.

Great Tires

Ordered tires when I ordered my Truck in 2004(Dodge 3500 4x4 single rear wheel) have replaced them with 61000 miles on them. Only replaced them because of their age and me running into curbs and wearing the sidewalls down. They just passed inspection and could go for another 10000 miles or more I am sure. I haul heavy load(firewood, logs to mill, mulch) you name it. The are good in snow and mud, thats why I got another set.

I currently have 45,000 ...

I currently have 45,000 miles on these tires and they have performed excellent for off-road and highway driving. I was surprised of how smooth they feel on the highway and they have excellent traction as well. One thing I found out about extending the life of your tires is to rotate and balance them every 5,000 miles and so far its paying off. These tires are also built tough, my wife loves to hug curbs and the sidewalls are definately holding up, thanks BFGoodrich.

Sidewall deteriorating

I have this tire on my 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie deisel Mega Cab. I have approx 80,000 miles on the tires. The tread is still good for another 10,000 but the sidewall has been deteriorating since 2008. It started on one tire then began to spread to additional tires. I guess I will be forced to replace the tires before the tread is worn out simply because the sidewall looks like it will split anytime. I pull 7 different trailers up and down the highway ahd was very diligent about tire rotation/inflation. I do not believe I have abused the tires would like to replace with same but have my reservations now.

The only reasonI bought ...

The only reasonI bought these tires because they were on sale at a great price. They ride much better than the Michelins that came on the truck from the factory. I believe because of the tread, they make a bit more road noise than my previous tires. The all terrain tread has been great in the snow.

Bring back the OLD Defender MS

I'm a 58 year old man and I drive commercially about 100,000 miles a year between two half ton trucks and one 3500 one ton truck, Ram and Ford. I have tried many different tire manufacturers from Bridgestone, Toyo, BFG and Goodyear to name a few, I always seem to come back to Michelin Tires. I know many of you are going to say there too expensive but, when you drive the interstate system threw out the USA I want something quite and comfortable and dependable. I was very sorry to here that Michelin was phasing out this tire, I have currently on the Ram a set of defender M/S 2 which are louder at 75 mph by 15% and rougher riding by about 20% over the plain Defender M/S. I fully believe these are the best tires for driving the interstate system by far. Michelin needs to bring back this tire and increase the load range by 200lbs each to reach the manufacturer's who suggest a rating of 118H on their trucks instead of the old 112T rating.
