Running two sets

Running one set of Rugged trails on an 2008 six cylinder Envoy and another set on a 2008 Toyota land cruiser. These vehicles split their time between six lane highways at speeds up to 80 MPH in temperatures of up to 122 degrees. Off road on very rough mountain and canyon tracks in Oman and deep desert work in the empty quarter. So far, not one puncture, good traction and with 20,000 miles on each set, not too much wear. Beats the factory fit tyres hands down.

90,000 Miles

I've just (9/23/13) replaced 4 BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A tires on my 4X4 pick up truck. I knew it had been a while since I'd put them on so I checked my records and found that I'd purchased those tires on 9/15/06 at 94,600 miles. When I replaced those tires, my odometer read 185,400. Now I'm no mathematician, but I add that up to 90,800, a remarkable number of miles for one set of tires. 7 years and 90,000 miles (I know I could have easily made it 100,000), you can bet your house that I replaced those 4 tires with 4 more Rugged Trail T/A's!

Nice tires but not performance oriented enough

Tires ride smoothly and quietly. Was hoping to replace my Michelin Primacy with another set of Michelin Primacy. Old tires had plenty of tread but were getting old (summer only car with low mileage). The Defender do not corner like the Primacy. The Primacy were more performance oriented and you can tell the difference. Unfortunately the Primacy in my tire size is no longer available (225R60/16). I do not drive like a race car driver but when I made a U-turn, you could tell they didn't grip the same. Also when making a left turn with and advanced light, sometimes I can tell my tires are slipping (accelerate a little too hard for the tires). I wish the Primacy were still available in my size.

Overall a great long wearing on on/off road tire that covers all the four seasons and great for the north woods. The northwoods for me is logging roads, gravel and packed leaves on a trail, which I utilize. Traction in deep snow was good and coupled with wet pack and ice it was good also. I think a lot of people believe that they can drive just as well on snow and ice as dry pavement and get themselves in trouble. I got 105,500 on my Ram 2500 because I rotated and balanced about every 7,500 miles. I truly believe in my opinion that this is the key for any tire to achieve great life. I would buy this tire again as it has the versatility of everything a normal person would drive on and through on an occasional basis, or four seasons of Wisconsin weather.

Great performance

The factory Yokohama tires on my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek were fair at best. They had a decent ride BUT they did not even make it to 36,000 miles (which is not acceptable!). I bought the Michelin Defender 2 tires and I am exceedingly pleased with the results. The Michelin Defender 2’s (along with a wheel alignment) have made a significant difference in the overall quality and performance of the ride. Tight on the corners and overall smooth and quiet. The Michelin Defender 2’s are noticeably quieter and hug the road smoother. From now on I will only be driving on Michelin tires. Also, they have an 80,000 mile warranty. I drive in all kinds of weather conditions and thus far they have exceeded my expectations in all respects. Great job Michelin you have made a lifetime customer out of me.

In 7000 miles on the ...

In 7000 miles on the current Rugged Trails, they have handled well in wet, dry, and mild off-road conditions. In the packed snow on the roads in the mountains, I expected the tires to slip in several situations, but was surprised at the amount of grip they had. Wear is minimal so far with the E rated tires on my 3/4 ton Dodge and I am satisfied with these tires as the original equipment on the truck.

Very disapointed!

These tires were the OEM tires that came on my 2010 Tundra. Right away the day I took ownership of my new truck I knew these tires would be a problem when I hydroplaned repeatedly on the wet freeway. The tires do have good traction on dry/damp pavement but are pretty much worthless in any other conditions. After 25K miles there at 3/32 and I'm having to replace them. That's less than half of what they were rated for!

Extremely Comfortable and Quiet

This year, it was time to buy new tires for my Honda CR-V 2018. I researched a lot and came to the idea that Michelin Defender 2 is the best choice. I bought them and I could not believe how fantastic they are. Defender 2 is very quiet and comfortable on both highways and roads. In addition to comfort which was my first priority, they are excellent at handling and maintaining vehicle stability, even compare to the factory-installed tires which were not Michelin. I realized why Michelin is the number 1 brand trie in the world. As a friendly reminder, tire is the most important part of a vehicle and they must be the best. Spend your money wisely, buy Michelin, and enjoy your everyday ride. I never go with any other brands. I highly recommend Defender 2. Rest assured you will never regret your purchase.

Quite ride

I bought these tires because a friend of mine recently got some. I am extremely pleased with the quiet ride that these tires provide. I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform during next winter season to see how they handle the snow and icy roads.

Horrible

I would not recommend these tires to anyone. I purchased them one week shy of two years ago and just spent the last three hours getting new tires. They only lasted 25k miles. I drive mostly in city or highway. They only went off road a couple of times, on very easy trails. I am so disappointed! They look good, that's about it.
