These are true shrimp but a different species than most frozen shrimp in a bag. This species is referred to in some quarters as "langostino" and does not have the flavor and texture of other species of shrimp, being more like lobster in both flavor and texture. That's not a bad thing, but they are not the best choice for shrimp cocktail or use in a recipe that calls for shrimp. On the other hand, they make a nice mock lobster roll or mock lobster bisque for a lower price and greater yield and convenience since there is no shell. Although they are red, they are sold raw and still need to be cooked.

Absolutely delicious and we had these fresh at ouŕ wedding years ago. My kids love these over any shrimp! Easy to cook. We have days of the week including Taco Tuesday and we do Water Wednesday so any food from the water... and we always add things but a MUST to have these every time. Plus, these come from the OCEAN!!!

Package says shrimp is raw. It is not. It is cooked.

Thought the shrimp tasted waterlogged. Maybe it was just that bag however am choosing the shrimp with the shell in the future.

Very large wild caught shrimp. Supposedly caught with trawl. Great tasting shrimp A little more money but I can’t buy farm raised
