I’m a food blogger and spend a great deal of time in the kitchen, so when Rubbermaid decided to send me a set of their new food storage containers for review purposes I was really able to run them through their paces. Over the past few weeks they’ve been stuffed with soup, stew, chili, curry, and other random dinner leftovers with great results. I haven’t had a single leak in my lunchbox yet, which is why these have quickly become my favorite containers for taking food on-the-go. What really makes these different from other latch-style containers is the fact that the seal isn’t removable—it’s attached directly to the lid which eliminates any chance of the seal slipping and allowing wet contents like salad dressing, salsa, or soup to slip through the cracks and all over your lunchbox. This, coupled with the built in vents below the latches that allow you to keep the lid on while warming your food, is what makes the design of these containers so brilliant. As much as I’ve enjoyed these containers they do have one major drawback—they’re incredibly difficult to open, so they may not be the best choice for anyone with impaired grip strength or for smaller children who are still developing their fine motor skills (my five year old really struggles when trying to open these containers and usually ends up spilling the contents everywhere.) I prefer to use plastic over glass when it comes to my daily meal preps and this container is perfect for that. It's the right size too for all my meals or for storing any leftovers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Each container fit perfectly on the counter. The basic design was able to go with anything. The lids were easy to attach and seal. Being air tight the goods will be able to last a very long time. Being really thick, I am sure they will not break or crack and feel heavy duty.

I bought a set of brilliance and then an additional 9.6 cup container separately. I used this container in the microwave for 3-4 minutes without the lid and cover- just with a paper towel. When it was done, I had 2 brown areas that looked like the plastic was melting. What a waste!!!!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have fallen in love with the new Rubbermaid Brilliance food storage containers. It is great that the container is clear making it easy to know what is in it when I rummage through the freezer, and rendering it unnecessary to pull off lids to discover what is inside, and the seal keeps the frost and freezer burn away. I tested the seal by using the container to take soup to work with me for my lunch. Running for the bus shook the container every which way, and it was upside down when I arrived, but not one drop had seeped out. Using the microwave to heat the soup at my lunch break was very easy and quick, with the simple wing locks raised to allow steam to escape, without any soup spillage. I will definitely be purchasing several more of these so both my husband and I may have homemade hot lunches at work with no hassle or mess.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are excellently built, the lids hold excellently with a superb seal. They look nice without being overdesigned. That have one flaw that I just cant get past. They don't nest. These are designed in a way that if you want to store them while not in use you will not be able to without a huge amount of cabinet space, and if you forget, and try to nest one inside of another...you may never be able to separate them again. This may not be an issue for some of you, and if you were only buying a couple to store something specifically then these would be a buy. For me though, this flaw is a fatal one.

These containers are made of glass with vented plastic lids. These are stain proof, BPA free & 100% leak/spill proof. These are versatile and offer a decent selection of sizes for storing your food/ left overs. I highly recommend buying these.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I purchased a Rubbermaid Brilliance container. The product states it is stain resistant as well as guarantees it is 100% leak proof. Of course I had to try it with spaghetti sauce! Once full, I turned the container upside down, shook it and sure enough it was true to its word, it did not leak. I then washed the container in the dishwasher and it did not stain. Truthfully, I have containers that do not leak and I have containers that do not stain, but I realized I don't have any that actually do both. I also love that the Brilliance container is BPA free and stacks nicely in my cupboard and well as my fridge. The container is clear so I could easily see what leftovers I had available. I would recommend this product to someone with frequent leftovers or someone who wants to take a lunch on the go as it is easily reheatable in the microwave.

What first caught my attention with this product was the great look. Once I opened the package, I really liked the vacuum seal that the lids provide. My husband said that it kept his sandwich bread especially fresh, even in the refrigerator (rather than getting moist or dried out). The containers seem scratch resistant and I have has no problems washing them in the dishwasher. They come out clean/clear like glass, with no residues sinking into the plastic. Most importantly the containers can be dropped (accidentally or thrown by a toddler) and have no chips or cracks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These cereal keepers are sturdy, durable and great quality. The cap shuts securely so the cereal won’t dry out! I love how chic they look in my kitchen. You can easily pop the top off and wash these easily too. If you don’t eat cereal, I find this is a GREAT way to store cat/dog food as well so doubles as a storage for pet food and doesn’t let air in. Highly recommend!
