This item has risen in price in the past year, the flavor is off, they need more seasonings. Worst of all the container is mostly liquid, i tried to upload a picture, but after we used all the meat, the container was 80% full of just liquid. This is a ripoff. I was only able to make 5 sandwiches and 2 of those were children sizes. I'm sticking to buona meat, at least with them the flavor is better and you get more meat. I dont know how any of the reviews are positive. I live next to 3 portillios, and if you had their Italian beef, then you will know that this is crap. I've live in Chicago my entire life and never heard of papa Charlie. Pass on this.

Papa Charlie's Italian Beef is one of the worst Italian beef tubs you can buy. It is about as tasteless as Italian beef could possibly be and loaded with rubbery gristle. The slices of beef are thicker than some which might be fine if the beef itself were any good. It might be "Chicago Famous" as they say on the package, but for all the wrong reasons.

This was a great product! We made homemade hoagies with this beef and used the leftover juices for broth and soup. Great!!!!!
