Great shed! Very poor assembly!

To begin with, I believe that LifeProof products are high quality. I have a deck box that I assembled, and it is perfect. I decided to order this shed thinking it would be a long term investment to store my lawn tractor and other items. The shed appears to be good quality, but the two gentlemen who assembled it did a very poor job. The shed was assembled less than 24 hours ago. I tested to see if it would leak with a hose, and sure enough, water runs right through the roof line. The guys who assembled this product said when they arrived at my home, that they had only built one other shed of this size. That was a red flag, and it became obvious that they had no clue how to assemble the shed. They did not use the Bilt App to assemble it. I asked them why, and they said “it gives step by step instructions…that's just too much.” The guys arrived at 11:00 A.M. and did not finish assembly until 7:15 P.M. The guys were unable to assemble the roof peak as was instructed in the directions. They then proceeded to assemble that whole part, and then tried to set it in place. The lead tech said “we had to finagle it in place.” Upon inspection of the roof when they finished, I noticed that there was a screw that was not in place. The lead tech tried to screw it in, but was unable to do so. He then proceeded to get a longer screw, that is not designed to go in that hole, and he tightened it down. The tech took pictures of this at my request. The next morning after assembly, I sprayed water using a hose on the roof. It leaks a lot This is not acceptable. The roof is damaged where the screw was messed up by the tech. The doors were also installed unleveled. The tech did bang on the shed/doors with a rubber mallet, and they do close now. But this is not how it was designed to be built. The techs who assembled the shed were very unprofessional. They did not arrive in a company vehicle. The did not have any uniforms. One of them smoked heavily, and put his butts and other trash in my trash can, which made my trash can smell like cigarettes. I did not like that at all. For the price of assembly, I expected a water tight, leak proof, quality shed. Instead, I have a new shed that leaks with only a little water on the roof. Very disappointing. I will be contacting the company for help to resolve this issue. I like the shed, but I'm very disappointed with the assembly crew.

We are sorry you didn't have a good assembly experience with your shed. It sounds like something may have been misassembled. Please send pictures of the roof to reviews@lifetime.com so we can help see what's happening.

sturdy

I purchased this shed 2 months ago. A little trouble with some of the directions but was able to figure them out. A base for the floor is a must, mine was wood. The double door is a good feature. It will require 2 or more people to get the sides and corners aligned. Hardest task is installing the 20 foot center cap. Also do not try building in the heat of summer everything plastic was soft and all metal was too hot to handle. My fault for living in Las Vegas. Since completing have had no issues with any of the sides ,roof or doors.

Love the product and the service!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple of years ago, the setup was pretty easy, my younger daughter actually helped me with it, she said it was like putting Legos together ;-) I put mine on a concrete slab and anchored it in, and it's been rock-solid. So what prompted me to write this review is their customer service. I recently noticed that one of the clear panels running at the crest of the roof was getting split at the bend of the plastic, potentially allowing for leaks and junk to get in. I called customer service looking to see what parts I would have to get to replace/repair the item, and they actually setup an order for me to get the newer version of these panels which were more sturdy, but they didn't charge me and shipped them free. Gotta love a company that really stands behind it's products!! You've got a customer for life, I HIGHLY recommend them!!!

so much for that 65mph rating

follow up to review previously left . 25-30 mph winds here on Saturday 16 FEB in Springfield MO and she is now in pieces. Screws seem very loose after screwing into plastic, nothing seems to line up correctly. Instructions are terrible. I have very serious concerns about this standing up to any kind of wind past 20mph. Bought this because of the good reviews but for the life of me I can't see why it has good reviews. For $2700 I expected this thing to be built like a tank.

Outdoor Shed

The shed is just as pictured, sturdy and goes together fairly easily. It does come with a floor, but one that needs to be set on a foundation, which is fine. (I don't remember seeing info on the flooring being included or not when I ordered, but I may have missed it.) I am very happy with it and would recommend it to friends. The only improvement I could suggest would be a crew to put it together at a reasonable price.

Well designed light weight structure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very well designed light weight structure. It's easy enough for a small lady to build. The roof, and main door gable were big challenges. I would have color codeed the tubing for the two doors since they were different. Instructions are complicated. Tool parts are labelled, if the little plastic bags could also note where they were designated, that would eliminate guessing in the process (i.e. roof parts, windows parts...etc). I had put some netting around my wood foundation to prevent uninvited critters.

Worst instructions and packaging!

Just put the shed up with the other day with the help of three others (contractor, technical writer, business owner), instructions are very confusing and hardware is not labeled according to instructions which probably adds hours of extra time to the install because you're searching the 50+ bags of hardware for the correct screw and part to use. I would pay the extra money and have someone else install it for you and save you the frustration. You would also think that the instructions would be in box 1 of 4 from the manufacturer.

I bought this a few months ago. The floor swells up so bad you can't even shut the doors. The plastic is a very poor quality . The racks fall off the side when you hang anything on them. I feel the quality is very poor it should be a heavier plastic.

Not Happy

Leaks are all around the perimeter of the shed. The holes where the wall panels slide into place have gaps where rain water pours in. The holes around the doors are all wide open and rain pours in. Not sure why you designed the floor with so many holes especially along the door openings. I put flashing all around the outside, 2 lines of caulk around the perimeter outside. Also filled the numerous holes where the doors are with flex rubber but the rain keeps pouring in. The windows on the doors leak as well. Not sure why you did not provide tape to seal like there is on the skylights. When the doors are open and the floor is exposed to the sun, the floor warps like crazy and has now pulled apart along two floor panels. Most all the screws that attach the middle roof skylights have stripped so there is not much holding them into place. I really wish I had spent more money and put a wooden shed in. I have purchased many Lifetime products over the years and have always been impressed with the quality. This shed however has been a complete let down.

Verified Purchase

The Barn that was confusing.

Great product but directions were a little sketchy. Make sure to put together as told in manual.
