Love the product and the service!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple of years ago, the setup was pretty easy, my younger daughter actually helped me with it, she said it was like putting Legos together ;-) I put mine on a concrete slab and anchored it in, and it's been rock-solid. So what prompted me to write this review is their customer service. I recently noticed that one of the clear panels running at the crest of the roof was getting split at the bend of the plastic, potentially allowing for leaks and junk to get in. I called customer service looking to see what parts I would have to get to replace/repair the item, and they actually setup an order for me to get the newer version of these panels which were more sturdy, but they didn't charge me and shipped them free. Gotta love a company that really stands behind it's products!! You've got a customer for life, I HIGHLY recommend them!!!
I bought this a few months ago. The floor swells up so bad you can't even shut the doors. The plastic is a very poor quality . The racks fall off the side when you hang anything on them. I feel the quality is very poor it should be a heavier plastic.
Do not order if you live in Guilford County, NC!
After checking out a store display in my local Sam's Club, I decided that I would like to have a Lifetime Products storage shed, to replace my current shed. I ordered item 876556 online, paid extra for it to be installed, and the kit arrived in around a week, on a skid. After going around and around with Guilford County permitting and planning representatives for several weeks, and dealing with other Lifetime Products representatives by email and by phone, I was getting very frustrated, with nothing but a concrete base that I could not use (unless I found a shed that was acceptable to Guilford County). One inspector finally told me that Guilford County required a 90 mph wind rating. Since this kit has a 65 mph wind rating, Guilford County could not allow the shed kit to be installed. I contacted Sam's Club a week ago, and given a return authorization number. I was told that I would be contacted by (probably) by a freight company, in order to finalize arrangements for pick-up. A week went by, but I never heard from anyone. I contacted Sam's Club again today, and was told that Lifetime Products was very difficult for Sam's Club to reach, when a return was being requested. I was told that they would not even answer the phone a lot of times. I now wish that I had not even been tempted by the sale price of this kit! I am very disappointed!!! Now, I am stuck with a kit that I can't use. I'm wondering if it will ever get picked up, so that I can get credit for my purchase. I feel that Lifetime Products has let me down. I am wondering why they would even be allowed to offer a kit (with a 65 mph wind rating) for sale in an area that requires a 90 mph wind rating! If you want nothing but frustration, go ahead and order this kit! You could be waiting for a long time, before you get your money back!
I am going to reach out to Sam's to see if we can get your info since I do not have a way to contact you. I apologize for the huge inconvenience this has been for you. You have every right to be frustrated. We have an extreme weather kit that when installed has an approved wind rating of 94 mph and is approved in even the harsh wind climate of Dade Co. Florida. I have this document on file and I am not sure why this was not discussed with you when you called in? Please email me at reviews@lifetime.com so I can help you get this issue taken care of. We can either get the documents and extreme weather kit to you or I will help you get your shed picked up and refund back ASAP. -The Lifetime Reviews Team
This thing was PERFECT to build!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To anyone reading reviews and considering buying this shed: I give this shed a perfect 10/10 rating for instructions and build quality. I did 95% by myself (just needing help for the roof skylight piece). Amazingly not a single piece was missing or damaged. Also, everything fit together perfect. I just finished installing the snow load kit (comes with it) and thought to myself that I really should write a review about how great this shed is. To whomever designed this, it really is impressive how well it fits together. The roof is very strong and I have no issues with the doors catching. The only small comment I will make is that the directions do not indicate which doors (for front or side) require which height hinge rods. You have a 50/50 shot and I was unlucky. The instructions just need to be updated to clarify which is which.
Outdoor Shed
The shed is just as pictured, sturdy and goes together fairly easily. It does come with a floor, but one that needs to be set on a foundation, which is fine. (I don't remember seeing info on the flooring being included or not when I ordered, but I may have missed it.) I am very happy with it and would recommend it to friends. The only improvement I could suggest would be a crew to put it together at a reasonable price.
Horrible
I bought one like this one, just a smaller size 8X15. I thought because it was made in the USA that it would be a nice shed. Boy, was I wrong. The company Lifetime is horrible to deal with. My shed leaks from the roof, the doors do not match up right, the skylights also leak. I have repeated everything that they have told me to do as well as put the new parts in that they sent, still leaks and the doors still do not match up. I have now asked them to just come and remove it from my property and thier response was it wasn't for them to do. That I am to get refund from Sam's Club and I don't know what to do with the shed as of yet.
Love shed but install was lousy
This is a very nice shed. When I ordered it I arranged to have it installed, I'm disabled and can't do it myself. I received a phone call from Jenny at Lifetime Products, Inc to arrange a date to set up my shed. I then received a call the day before telling me there was an “emergency” and had to reschedule a week later. I was informed that the shed had to be installed on a platform. I arranged to have Lifetime Products build a platform for me at a charge of $550! After a whole days work the installers said they finished and cleaned up the mess. I go and check out the shed and the two side doors did not match up and could not be secured. A week later the floors become soft and the other two doors would not match up. I called Lifetime Products, Inc and they gave me a date to come out to fix the shed. Two days before the scheduled fix date I get a call telling me an “ Emergency “ came up and wanted to make the repair the next week. (Sound familiar?) I told them to forget it!
sturdy
I purchased this shed 2 months ago. A little trouble with some of the directions but was able to figure them out. A base for the floor is a must, mine was wood. The double door is a good feature. It will require 2 or more people to get the sides and corners aligned. Hardest task is installing the 20 foot center cap. Also do not try building in the heat of summer everything plastic was soft and all metal was too hot to handle. My fault for living in Las Vegas. Since completing have had no issues with any of the sides ,roof or doors.
so much for that 65mph rating
follow up to review previously left . 25-30 mph winds here on Saturday 16 FEB in Springfield MO and she is now in pieces. Screws seem very loose after screwing into plastic, nothing seems to line up correctly. Instructions are terrible. I have very serious concerns about this standing up to any kind of wind past 20mph. Bought this because of the good reviews but for the life of me I can't see why it has good reviews. For $2700 I expected this thing to be built like a tank.
Oh no! This should not happen, please email me at reviews@lifetime.com and we can get you taken care of!
Well designed light weight structure
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very well designed light weight structure. It's easy enough for a small lady to build. The roof, and main door gable were big challenges. I would have color codeed the tubing for the two doors since they were different. Instructions are complicated. Tool parts are labelled, if the little plastic bags could also note where they were designated, that would eliminate guessing in the process (i.e. roof parts, windows parts...etc). I had put some netting around my wood foundation to prevent uninvited critters.
