[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this amazing vacuum as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I really enjoyed using this vacuum in my kitchen on tile floors. In my bedroom on the carpet. But most of all on the carpet my daughter plays on every day! It literally sucked up a crazy amount of dust dirt and other yucky things I didn't even know were down there. The first time I emptied it, compared to the times since, is a whole difference. That initial cleaning sucked up so many things from her carpet. This vacuum is so easy to move around and get into spaces with, it changes easily to get all my surfaces which I appreciate. Also that it is super light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this SurfaceSense vacuum from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and was thoroughly impressed. We are a home that has multiple pets including a long haired cat and a dog with white hair. Everyone knows pets are family but seeing their hair all over can be frustrating. The Surface Sense vacuum helped me in every room including a room that had hardwoods with throw rugs in the center, and could automatically sense to turn the brush on and off. I never had to clean pet hair out of the brush, and the crevice tool was great for getting the litter that likes to stick in stubborn corners of the room. The lights on the bottom of the vacuum were also very useful for being sure that I had gotten all of the hair from under the couch and the table as well! Easy to maneuver, and lightweight compared to other vacuums I've had in the past, I don't have a single complaint!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Bissell Surface Sense Upright Vacuum as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel program. Bissell has always been a favorite brand for floor care but this tops them all! The Bissell Surface Sense Upright vacuum is intuituve, by sensing between hard floors & carpet. Making it a breeze to vacuum all your floors, & even gets the debris along edges well too. Or this function can be switched off to run the brush continuously. It almost drives itself & takes little effort to push around the house even on the thickest of carpets.The handle can be removed to expose the wand for the versatile, convenient,  & very useful attachments. My favorite is the uniquely shaped crevice tool that also has a led light that helps you see those hidden places, & get them clean. But I absolutely love the tangle free brush roll. Despite having a long hair dog, 3 adults with hair to their waist, & 5 young kids, I never had to pull hair from the brush, & only had to empty the canister, as I despise cleaning hair. The canister is big enough to vacuum multiple rooms, & is simple to remove to dump without leaving a mess behind. When removed, you can also access 2 different filters, one on top of the canister, on underneath which makes for an ultimate clean. It also has suction control on the handle which makes it convenient to switch to the best settings for different areas. Overall, it is very accessible, & versatile making an upgrade on performance, & design that makes this Bissell Surface Sense Upright Vacuum, the best Bissell yet!

I have 2 small children and a long haired dog, so we are vacuuming our home almost every day. We have an even mix of flooring in my home, and I've been used to transitioning between my upright vacuum and a stick vacuum depending on what floor I'm cleaning at the time. The Surface sense allows me to clean all of my floors with just one vacuum. It senses the floor, and transitions easily from bare floor to plush carpet so I can go to different rooms and hallways without switching vacuums. On bare floor, it suctions everything up without just moving dirt and debris around and has been great for removing dog hair from carpet and furniture without getting tangled in the brush roll. This vacuum is easy to empty and lightweight which makes it easy to maneuver and take up and down stairs. Getting dog hair out of our carpeted stairs was once a tedious chore, but the Turbo Eraser attachment has helped me to quickly clean and remove the hair with ease. My favorite feature is the lighted crevice tool that helps me get in between couch cushions, around the edges of furniture and the edge of the carpet by the baseboards. The only thing I would change is on the base of the vacuum. It is wide, but hard to run along edges and baseboards to know that I'm getting all of the hair and dirt along those edges. Overall, this vacuum is great to have to clean up after pets and families and truly know that both carpets and bare floors are clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me the BISSELL Surface Sense Upright Vacuum to test. This vacuum has been a dream come true for our home as we have a variety of floor surfaces ranging from wood and area rugs, to carpet and vinyl. The Surface Sense technology is awesome in that in senses the type of flooring and adjusts the brush rolls accordingly to match the floor type. There is an adjustment knob on the handle for plush carpet verse low carpet but I tend to keep this on low carpet and bare floor setting all the time as that is what works best in my home. The light on the vacuum is very convenient to help me ensure all areas are thoroughly clean because with pets and toddlers I want to make sure I get everything on the first swipe to keep the floors clean for little hands and feet. The vacuum is very easy to maneuver around furniture and chairs and adjusts smoothly without any clunky abrupt movements required. The tangle free brush roll is one of my favorite features of this vacuum, with my daughter and my long hair I always seem to have to clean the brush roll with previous vacuums I have owned but I have not had to clean it as of yet with this model. I also love the crevice attachment with the light for cleaning my children's high chairs and other tight fitting areas. After using this vacuum for about a month I would say that the cord is very stiff. I assume with time it will continue to loosen a bit but it has been very rigid and a bit hard to coil up between uses. Overall, this Surface Sense Upright Vacuum has been great for my home with the automatically adjusting surface feature and the suction has proven strong for a home with pets and toddler messes abound.

It comes with great accessories and they all have a storage spot on the vacuum which is a huge plus! I love that the crevice tool has a light. That's a fun little feature. The surface sense is pretty cool. Is it necessary? Probably not. It's something I could live without but since the vacuum has it, it is super convenient. I feel like it cleans really well. It's very simple to use and the fact that it can sense what kind of floor you're on is a game changer. I also love the light that shines on the floor so when you're in a darker room you can see what you're vacuuming. All in all this is a great vacuum that I would recommend! Gets the job done and it makes cleaning that much easier!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this vacuum to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. First, these were the things I liked about the vacuum: 1. Easy to maneuver. I have a lot of kids stuff in my home that I am constantly moving around. The vaccum was easy to manuver around those things. Or I could pick up item in one hand and push the vacuum with the other. 2. Visibility. The LED light made it easy to see areas that needed extra attention and that I missed. And it was easy to switch between my carpeted and hardwood surfaces. 3. Easy to empty canister. There was minimal ick factor when emptying the canister. 4. The extra long chord. Probably the one thing that disappointed me was the Pet Turboeraser didn't work the way I would have liked. I have two cats, a Persian mix and tabby. They both have their favorite spots to lay on and those spots usually need extra attention. It seemed to do fine with the short hair, but I needed to run it over the longer cat hair more times. I also tried the Turboeraser with the extension wand and directly to the hose. The directions didn't mention which one to use. I found that the tool didn't stay well on the wand. It did work better attached to the hose. Overall it worked well on my carpets, hardwood, and linoleum.

We are loving this vacuum, it transitions seamlessly, but I do catch myself still going over the thresholds of the doorways a second time. I feel like it may need an half extra second to adjust that I don't give it, but really it's probably an old habit I just can't break yet! I have noticed that I am using the crevice tool significantly less around the baseboards because the vacuum head gets much closer than our other vacuum, which is a huge win for me while being pregnant. I like that I am able to do less fiddling and more cleaning! Along this line, the vacuum seems more balanced, where if I park it to help my kiddos quickly or pick something up, it isn't tipping over-unlike our other vacuum. The dump and clean canister is great, but not flawless. With having long hair, I have to bang on the canister a little because my hair gets wrapped around it (with debris) and then it typically dumps out in one big clump. Sometimes this causes a big of a dust mess outside the garbage, but my husband accuses me of not emptying the canister until it's ridiculously full and says he has no issues after he dumps each time he vacuums, so if you're not as meticulous as he is, consider this your heads up! Overall, we love the vacuum, the lack of effort and attention it needs, and it's cleaned up well after our two toddlers and two labs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am currently attempting to return. This only has some edge cleaning on the right side. The left side, not at all. The plastic that covers the brush comes further over on that side and prevents edge cleaning. It also does not have enough suction power. I had an older Bissel that I used for 8 years and LOVED! They no longer make it. Very disappointment.
