Sturdy, good design

Good size for a large dog, sturdy, assembly was easy. I like the design and how it accommodates the heater - looks like it will be safe. We added a cushion/dogbed that isn't in close contact with the heater. We removed the door because it folds and binds a little when our dog entered, could be a potential for injury. We replaced it with a piece of rubber floor mat. Otherwise we are happy with it so far. We put it in a building the dog can access through a doggy-door so it's out of the wind/weather but in SD the winters temps can get below zero so having a heat source is imperative for our short-haired dog.

Snow blows inside doghouse!!!

Update on 1st review. Got a small amount of snow with a wind. I felt inside the dog house where I had put a blanket. The past week all nice and dry, the snow tonight, blew right thru the doggie door and the first few inches of blanket has snow on it. For the amount we paid, this should not have happened. I even have the door facing the house, about 3’ from it and it’s still wet. I would love for someone to tell me how to rectify this .

Great Dog House!

We have been looking for a sturdy, insulated dog house and this is the best we've found. It is perfect for our golden retriever. Had to remove both portions of the swinging door before he would go inside and we'll leave them off. It definitely took two people to put it together.

Dislike our purchase

The unit snaps together poorly, which we had no idea that the unit would not come with screws for assembly. We have to have our dog house up against the wall of our home. If not our dog could bump into the back piece of the doghouse and it all would collapse. We expected with such a high price, that the product would be better. I am dissappointed in the purchase completely. The purchase came without any instructions too.

Great for Outdoor Dogs

I bought this house a year ago for my 40lb Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Being a short-haired dog, she needed extra protection from the harsh NJ winters. I've built two houses with carpeted doors, and bought a doggy snowsuit for her, but that was not enough. After searching online, I came across this house and was fortunate to be a Sam's Club member. Other sites want twice as much for this house. The house was easy to put together. It took all of 15 minutes for unboxing to completion. All I needed was a Philips screwdriver. My dog was skeptical at first, but caught on quick with the door because she was used to dog houses with doors. She absolutely loves this house. It keeps her dry, warm, and toasty. If you have an outdoor dog, this house is a must buy.

Perfect Doghouse for Warmth

This dog house is definitely worth every dime!! It was shipped quickly and took maybe 8 minutes to put together. We already had a doghouse heater and it fit perfectly. We added a good layer of hay on top and took 1/2 the door off as suggested. Our 11 year old dog was inside snuggly warm within a few minutes (I did throw a treat inside to lure her in). I have actually gotten inside the house to see if it was really as warm as they advertise and it is! Also I was worried about the size, but our dog (lab mix of around 60-70 lbs) fits comfortably with room to spare. I will probably buy the fan that fits it for summertime.

Needs reinforcement on doors/corners

Both dogs liked the houses but the first day out they started chewing on the corners of the roof. After both house where out for a few days they had already chewed off the ends of the top portions of the doors where you attached the bottom half of the doors. Have to find a way to be able to attach the bottom sections of doors now. Otherwise, the dogs like them in comparison to their Igloos. Maybe the outer wrapping of the houses could be built with a material similar to the Igloo brand and new design for the doors.

Very nice big house

This fit my large male German Shepherd just fine. It is very warm. He would hop right in it on command after just one night. These make a "Dogloo" look like a joke. I'm not sure how Sams shipped this to me Fed-Ex for $5.00 but I'm not complaining. It was a great deal.

Best dog house

We LOVE this dog house. It’s light, the floor is off the ground, all walls are insulated, the door keeps the heat in. This is the only doghouse we trust to keep our fur baby warm in Utah weathers. this is our second house like this and we will continue to use this as our go to house.

Fine, except...

This came in 2 large boxes, by Fedex, on a Saturday, for $6.16! Gotta love that! When opening the boxes, there is a lot of styrofoam 'pebbles' and dust on everything, which I guess is residue from the insulation. I don't know why it would be all over every piece, there didn't appear to be any leaks. I recommend vacuuming everything carefully before attempting to assemble. This is made in America, and I'm surprised it would go out in this condition. Assembly was quick and very easy, and once together, the house was solid. I pickled it up and moved it across the yard with no flex or hint of any loose pieces. We have 2 sm/med dogs, and they both fit inside this house with room to spare. The hinged door is sort of a good idea, as well as a problem. It's a bit heavy, and doesn't swing very freely, so when the dog enters and tries to pull out, he's caught by the door, and gets spooked. Obviously, this hampers the training process, so I immedaietly removed the bottom section, but I think the damage is done. Happily, the dogs will now go in & out without much coaxing, but I doubt I'll ever be able to put the bottom portion of the door back on, so the house has lost its insulation value. I may have to hang a towel or replace the whole thing with a doggie door flap, which they're familiar with. I will say that the house is okay, but can't say I'm particularly happy with it.
