Love this Cast Iron

I love this pan. Though instructions did say not to season it, I went ahead and seasoned the pan to avoid any rust.

To maintain seasoning, lightly rub cooking oil over the entire casserole after drying thoroughly
Your casserole has been pre-seasoned prior to shipment from the factory and does not need to be
seasoned for the initial use. However, for best results, you may apply a light coating of cooking oil inside the casserole before each use. This will ensure the casserole remains properly seasoned and prevent rusting.

Note: Seasoning is a coat of soybean oil baked onto the cast iron casserole at a high
temperature, which provides easy-release properties to the casserole. Cooking foods with fat
and/or using oil will continue to season the casserole over time.

To re-season the casserole, apply a high smoke point cooking oil over the entire surface,
then heat in the oven for an hour at 176 ºC (350 ºF). To catch excess oil, place a baking
sheet on the oven rack below the casserole. The casserole is ready to use once cooled.
You may wipe off any excess oil remaining on the casserole.

Please contact help@tramontina-usa.com for any additional support. Thank you.
