Good pie. Poor packing

The chicken pie is delicious…..We ordered it and had it delivered. When it got delivered it was in a cardboard box not laying flat…but packed standing on it’s side with all the fillings falling out . I can’t believe that someone would pack a pie on it’s side.

Cooking instructions need some work.

I really like the flavor but we couldn't even actually eat it because no matter how much time it spent in the oven, it would not cook all the way through. The bottom of the crust stayed gummy. I think it would have been good if it actually cooked through and was safe to eat.

Chicken delicious!

Bought this out of curiosity. It’s a large pie that can feed a crowd, roughly 5-6 people. This pie was a hit! Large chunks of chicken with delicious filling. I thought the filling to pie ratio was perfect. The reviews I read on this pie seemed mixed but I can honestly say I thought the pie was so very filling and hearty! If you love chicken pot pie then I highly recommend you give this a try. This pie is now a household favorite that I purchase it at least once a month. So good!!! My only wish is that the pie came in a smaller portion so I could eat this more often without feeling so guilty.

Disappointed

Disappointed with the quality; although the sauce and veggies are good, the chicken was frisky and chewy….had to pick out quite a bit of chicken from the first serving. Perhaps more select pieces of chicken (minus the chewy grisly parts) would be good. Will not purchase again.

Best pot pie you’ll have at home!

Best pot pie! I never liked pot pies until trying this one. The crust is buttery, light, slightly flakey but not crumbly. The filling is delicious! The size is huge and can easily feed 6-8 people. I just wish they made smaller sizes as well so we could have for just my husband and I because we have to invite people over when we bake this so it all gets eaten.

Not worth the hype

Don't let the reviews fool you. I was so excited to try this as I love a good pot pie. Now, you'll like this if you like eating mostly crust, as it is only about an inch thick with filling. Also, there was very little chicken, as it was mostly vegetables and unfortuanately once you heat it to temp, the sauce is very runny, not thick and hearty. I was really grossed out by how much gristle, fat, skin and cartilage that was in this pie. This is probably made with the scraps. Definitely not worth $20.00. A little pro tip when you bake it, wrap a ring of aluminum foil around the outer edge of the crust before you put it in the oven to keep the edges from burning while baking. The center can take a bit to get fully cooked and this will give you an even brown crust. Remove the foil a few minutes before its done to toast the edges.

Good crust and content, lots of turkey!!!

We have these pies as a treat for dinner every few weeks. Filled with fresh chicken (I believe it’s the leftover roasted chicken they also sell) and veggies but heavy on the chicken. Flakey crust that is quite tasty. It’s a great family meal and fairly healthy!

Great homestyle classic

TIP: Brush the lattice crust with beaten egg prior to baking, it will give it a beautiful finish. My dad loves chicken pot pie, so we gave this a try. He thought it was delicious as-is. My plate needed a little cayenne and black pepper, but my husband and I found it pleasing this way as well. It fed three very hungry men, and me with some leftover. Filling: The sauce was creamy and the carrots were a small dice (no weird wavy slices or large unruly chunks). Crust: Both a top and bottom crust. Crust was flaky and pleasantly puffy. Only con: I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I was expecting pieces of rotisserie chicken (per description). The chicken in our particular pot pie was white meat only, however it was not gnarly or gristly, so that’s actually a plus. About the size of a large pizza. Quality from Rosedale, MD club is very good as of September 2021.

Surprised!

I was surprised. Most pre-packaged quick meals are not flavorful or kind of rubbery. This pot pie had a ton of white meat chicken, carrots and plenty of broth. I only wish they had a Southern style with seasoned green beans in place of nasty peas…most folks down here just pick them out.
