My mother always told me that Crisco makes the very best piecrust. She is right. I love this huge can of Crisco because it lasts so long. This definitely makes your pie crust flaky or than anything else.

Great value for the money I ordered two 6lb cans They came dented up even though the box was intact. Customer service was excellent and handling the review issue sent me two more cans they were also dented so just expect that I think.

I switch from "Great Value" shortening (3#) to this for one reason. Less Plastic. This has a metal ring on top & a thin metal bottom. Only the top is plastic. The Great Value is all plastic. Crisco costs more but it's time to reduce single use plastic.

I love being able to buy crisco in this big of a container. Not to mention its the biggest one in stores and its cheaper. At walmart you get half the size for only 3 dollars less. This is a way better deal. I use crisco to make french fries and they always come out good.

I've tried other "knock off" shortening and they just don't stack up to Crisco. However it has gotten VERY expensive in stores. They used to carry this in the club (hint, hint...put it back) but now I have to order it from Sam's online. But even with shipping it came out MUCH cheaper than the stores. I also found out if you order several containers at once, the shipping only goes up a small amount so it is very economical to order two or three at a time.

The Crisco is great...just like it's always been. The condition of the container, however, was terrible. The metal lip was severely bent. Thankfully the plastic cover was intact, but it's going to continue to be difficult to get the product out along the upper edge.

I was so happy to find this on the Sam's Club site. We bake a lot of cookies, and this is an ingredient in almost every recipe. These were 6 pound cans, and the cans available locally are only 3 pounds for about the same price. We substitute butter for half of the shortening. It gives the cookies a wonderful taste and crispy crunch!
