I had stopped buying my Gala's from Sam's quite a while ago. I was finding 20~40% of the apples in the bag were heavily bruised or even starting to rot and molding. Was in need of apples a few weeks back and thought I'd give Sam's another shot. Glad I did. Since that "fateful" day, I have purchased this 3 times and each bag has been all quality - no rot.

These apples were soft gritty awful absolutely terrible . Yes they were all shiny and new but not worth the money or time I am a stroke survivor so the energy it takes to slice one apple I just thre the bag in the garbage I eat apples everyday usually I purchase the apple slices but they been out for over 2 weeks these Gala apples are a No for Me.

I used the online service for store pickup. So I personally did not pick these. My apples were not to my standards. Several were very yellow and not ready to be eaten. Also there were rotten apples in the bag so that really helped out overall as well. As I said I did not pick these , it was picked by the personal shopper in my local store.

The apples were delicious. I cut them into slices and add a drizzle of honey and sugar-free Hershey’s syrup or just some peanut butter. The reason for the 3 stars was because there were a few that was blemished and I had to toss them. But that won’t stop me from buying another bag because I know things can get tossed around and dropped during shipping.

This recent addition to my Favorite Buys list has as yet never disappointed us. The packers supply the quality that Sam's is known for. The supplier's orchard must have great terroir, because every apple is consistently crisp and sweet. Being on a diet that requires an apple in every daily green salad has made me appreciate this product.

Fresh produce is difficult to give a review for, so I will try my best! I eat these every day during the work week for lunch, and I can easily cut them using an apple slicer. It takes me about 3-4 weeks to finish a bag by myself. They are all typically about the size of a closed fist. The size varies, but not by much. Where I do see frequent variation is ripeness. 10% of the time, I find that the apples are already yellowing in Sam’s, and after sifting through all the bags you can see, they’re all like that! 50%, I’ll get a near-perfect, ripe bag and all the apples will stay ripe for the entire 3-4 weeks it takes me to finish the bag. 40%, I’ll get a pretty decent bag, but the apples will be mushy starting at the end of week 2 or start of week 3. Buying produce is always a bargain, but these apples are pretty good! If you have a larger family that will eat at least 2 apples per day, the mushiness likely won’t be a problem!

We have always liked Fuji Apples, but the last few bags we have purchased have had beginning of rot in the core. They are not fresh but appear to be last year's crop. We switched over to Gala Apples, and we found that they are crisp and have a lot of flavor.

These are top notch. Not like what you find in the grocery stores this time of year. We like to store them unrefrigerated on the counter. They last at least a week. They taste delicious like the apples we would get from the local orchard down the street
