I am a beginner and went out for the first time last weekend on a fairly busy lake. The kayak takes the waves without fear of tumping. I felt like a kid again - I am 61 years old and just wanted to have fun getting wet in the sun while being active - perfect choice for myself and when someone accompanys me!

With a little bit of sun to keep us warm, we took the kayaks out on the lake for the maiden voyage. The are fantastic little kayaks! They track well, are very stable and are perfect for the lake. I would imagine they are not well suited (or design for) any rapid moving water or large waves. The small size and reasonably weight makes it a reasonably easy carry to the water (It would be even easier if they molded the finger indentation with a lip on it). Besides the above mentioned carry points, my only other complaint is the straps for the seat are sometimes in the way a bit for paddling. We are very satisfied with this product and highly recommend them!

This sounded like a great deal but once again I am disappointed by Samsclub. One of the clips that holds the seat up was missing. Yes it doesn't sound like much but of course you don't notice that until you are on site ready to use it and have to tie off the webbing for it. I also ordered two of the 10 foot sit on top models and somehow (once I unpacked them) I found I had one sit in and one ride on top... I am so disgusted with Samsclub and how I had to fight to get them actually delivered when they said they would, I haven't bothered to call.

My wife and I had been considering a modular tandem Kayak because we go camping a lot and didn't have the room for a full size tandem kayak. I saw this kayak deal at Sam's and asked her to take a look to see if she would consider an individual kayak. She decided that might be fun to have a kayak to yourself and I made the purchase. They were delivered in a fairly short time (Shipped June 3rd, Received June 11th). We had the opportunity to take them out on the lake over Father's Day weekend and found that they are easily transported and extremely stable on the water. The paddles that were included are very nice in the fact that they are two pieces and can be adjusted in 3 different positions. If you are just beginning to kayak or like to have fun on the water, I would highly recommend these kayaks.

I am a middle aged non-athletic woman and weight around 220 lbs, my husband is 6' tall and weighs around 255, two kids, 9 & 11. Bought these kayaks to play around with in the water. Figured that even if they didn't work for the adults, the kids would use them. Was concerned after looking at them in the store that they would not be stable in the water. Took them out last night for the first time and LOVE THEM! Very stable, very easy to use, I was not at all worried about falling into the lake and paddling was simple. Kids purposely flipped kayaks over and easily got back in them. They also had fun standing on them and jumping into the lake and paddling around. For our use, we are VERY VERY happy with them. Great price too. Delivered in about 1 1/2 weeks. We did notice that had to let the water drain out of the inside before taking them back to our vehicle, not sure how they got water inside, but we were in the water for a couple hours and kids really used them.

We have had these for 2 years and after getting the first 2, we tried to order more but they were sold out. We are very excited they are available again and you cannot beat the price for the 2 pk. They are strong and very stable. With 3 teen boys who are VERY active, the "kayak wars" have been non-stop at the lake with the ones we already have, with one poor kid getting stuck with another brand kayak we had hoped would be as good, but it is nowhere near as stable as these are. These are easy to turn back over and get on if you do overturn one, even in deep water.

Great kayak except for a few minor design problems that create major problems 1. The seat back is held in place by a metal plate that is riveted to the kayak. The seat tends to fold down and when you get in kayak you sometimes sit on the seat back. This pulls the rivets out and causes the kayak to leak and the seat back to come off. Noticed a kayak in the Sam's Club store that had a different design by the same manufacturer where the seat back would easily pop in and out. 2. The adjustable strap for the seat back will not stay in place and you constantly have to readjust the seat back. 3. The T handle is attached by a screw in plug. When toting the Kayak this is constantly coming out rendering it un usable. FIX THESE ISSUES AND THIS IS A VERY USABLE, STABLE AND STURDY KAYAK.

Our family fell in love with similar sit-on-top kayaks and found these to buy for ourselves. They are sturdy and easy to handle on land or water. They have a great handle for carrying on the side. My kids 9 and up have been able to use them alone on the lake. We've also taken younger kids out with an adult. The backrest hasn't been horribly useful yet, but I haven't spent much time adjusting it to make it more comfortable.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!!!! I ordered this two pack and one was delivered with a hole in the hull. I called Lifetime because all the paperwork says to contact them. Lifetime said this was Sam'sClub's problem because it hadn't been over 30 days since purchase. I've contacted Sam'sClub 4 times about this issue. Each time I'm told they are escalating my problem, and then nothing happens! So I'm stuck with a broke kayak, and both the seller, and the manufacturer are NOT HELPFUL AT ALL!!! KAYAK Review: I got this kayak because it was 8ft. I am 6 ft tall, when I am on this thing it feels extremely small. The leg positions is not comfortable. I wish that I would have gotten a 10ft one. Also: These sit on top Kayaks have holes in them. to help with balance, buoyancy, drainage, ect. It would be fine if the holes were in the front and back only. BUT NO, they put two of them right where you sit. I don't expect to stay completely dry when in water, but I don't want to have a wet butt every time! The moment you get in you will have water on your seat, and therefore you will be sitting in wet the whole time, and after! Third-Party companies do make plugs for this. I recommend buying some before you even try these.
