Don't Judge These Peaches by Their Smell!

While my peaches smelled delightful, their taste was anything but sweet! It’s rare when I’m disappointed with the produce from Sam’s Club, but this purchase was certainly one of them. I only wish I had returned these, as I am completely disappointed.

Skip the Peaches

Either it is too late for Sam's source or the peaches simply aren't that great this year. The flat I bought was more than half inedible. The fruit ripened but were dry, pulpy and tasteless for the most part. A couple were edible but most got tossed in the garbage.

Delicious

They were delicious, with just enough firmness to eat like an apple. As with everything purchased at Sam’s you buy more than you can use right away, so we had to eat them quickly or they would spoil. Still, they were better and cheaper than at the local supermarket.

Unsatisfactory Fruit

More than half of them were rotten in the area surrounding the pit. I ended up throwing all but 4 away because I didn’t want to deal with returning bad fruit. I had bought them on two previous visits and they were excellent so I purchased two this time.

Yellow Peaches

These peaches are excellent, but there's a trick to getting them at their freshest. Every year, when they first come in (in June), the first couple of weeks they're not that good. They're best in July, and in August they tend to get mealy. Stick to buying them only in the sweet spot.

Pick out yourself

When I’ve personally bought these in-store, they were delicious. The best peaches I can remember having. However, last time I ordered them and picked them up in store and every single one was rotten... some were even molded. That is absolutely unacceptable. Two stars for having to throw out food that I paid for the same day.

Yummy smoothies

Good tasting peaches. Have to wait a day or two, otherwise too hard to my liking. Had one bad peach -- sure didn't look bad but when I cut it open was brown inside. Other than that one peach, all the others were delicious. I made several delicious and refreshing smoothies with these peaches.
