Back to Michelins

My new car came with other than Michelin tires. I tried to get them to change them but they would not. After driving for a month on my 'other than Michelin tires", I returned the car for a change to Michelin tires which at 80 years old, I have always had. What a difference!! Now my new car rides and handles as it should. What a joy. The performance by comparison is a world of difference and all due to my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 tires front and back. Thank you and buy this kind, you owe it to yourself to drive in the luxury of Michelin.

Best Tire for Volvo T5 Turbo!

The most responding tire ( a previous Z rated by another manufacturer was wormy and way less direct in comparison). These track superbly. By far less road noise too. The ever so slight firmer city ride is by far outweighed by the safety factor in direct response, highway smoothness. Side walls are firm, I had to replace a previous manufacturer's several times due to bubbling. Even the tire installer said that he felt a huge difference in the side wall thickness to old ones that were Z-rated. I am dying to try them in the snow and wet as I read they are top rated there too. Add long lasting to the mix and you can't beat them. Great Tire.

Amazing Grip, Low-noise, Gentle ride!

Awesome ride! I replaced some worn Primacy MXM4 set with the Pilot Sport A/S 3 set. Love the cornering improvement! The ride is as smooth as the Primacy's when they were new, but I think that the grip in both wet and dry pavement is better. Love these tires!

Love my A/S 3

I love my A/S 3'a. The ride is even. The grip is firm. And I've yet to find a situation they can't handle. I have a 323i 5 speed. Whil I'm not a speed deamon, I do enjoy an occasional spirited entrance onto the interstate. Down shift to 2nd, accelerate and they hug the corners in the s curve as I merge into traffic. It's a blast!

I have compared!

I drove a Nissan Maxima 2011 and had always ran BF's until my tire shop recommended the Pilot based on my driving habits. Well it was like a new car the way it handled especially in the rain. I went out the same week and put Michelin's on my wife's Ford Escape and she even noticed the difference. Great tire. I just bought a 2016 Nissan Maxima an what a fun car it drive except for 4 things, the tires! They have Continentals and what horrible tires, slips in rain and spins easily and just no confidence. Hard to get rid of new tires but the minute I can afford it she will get new Michelin Pilots so I can drive this car to capabilities. Good job

Great all around performance tire

All of my cars have Michelin tires because I will not settle for less. The A/S 3s had just come out when I bought them. I put them on my E-class to replace my old MXM4s. They are quiet, and handle great. At high speed on the freeway, the car is extremely stable. It hasn't rained in San Diego recently so I can't comment on wet traction. But since it normally doesn't rain here, I'm not too concerned.

Michelin quality the best

Purchased a new set of wheels with bigger diameter, so I need it to buy a tire with lower profile . I went from aspect ratio 55 ( also Michelin ) to 45 and I was shocked to see that the ride comfort remained the same, while the handling was unbelievable. I made tests and even post videos on net with the results. They also have a lip that protects the rim from curb marks, very clever. Good price too.

Louder than expected, worse gas mileage

I had these tires installed on my Audi A6 4.2 and they are a lot noisier than the other tires I have had on this car. The gas mileage is also a lot worse than my previous Michelins. My cabin used to be super quiet and now I hear a loud buzzing noise coming from the front tires.

Poor tread wear

This tire has a tread wear rating of 500, and has over 50% of the tread worn after 13,000 miles of easy driving. The car is a BMW 750Li, driven gently and only about 6500 miles a year. The fronts are Michelin Pilot Primacy, with a tread wear rating much lower - 220 - which have 17,000 miles more time on the car (they were installed by the BMW dealer when we purchased the car), and are showing 1/32 less tread than the Pilot Sport A/S 3. This is difficult to grok - a tire with well over twice the tread wear rating, wearing nearly the same in 13,000 miles as the lower tread wear rated tires have in 33,000 miles. These will not be a repeat.

Worst Michelin Tires in 32 Years!!

Since 1983, I've exclusively purchased Michelin tires which, until now, never disappointed me. Although the Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires handle well, they've significantly reduced my Honda Civic's gas mileage by 10-12%. The drop in mileage began immediately after these tires were installed. I keep my vehicle in top mechanical shape and ensure that all maintenance schedules are followed, so there is no doubt that the drop in mileage is due to these new tires. My original tire choice was the Primacy MXM4 205/55R16 tires. Unfortunately, Michelin had no inventory available for many months. Just my luck, because the Primacy MXM4's are now available!
