Terrible in dry and wet conditions

Rented a car in Miami this week (Ford Escape). Tires were new as the car only had 50 miles on it. I noticed through the week that non-aggressive accelerating grip was minimal and turning/braking grip in wet condition grip was also minimal. Tires are so bad I got out of car specifically to look at the make and model, and was surprised they are Michelin’s. I have significant experience evaluating tire grip and performance as a semi-professional endurance race car driver. These tires are unsafe for average drivers in moderate street use. I will go out of my way to tell friends and family to not purchase this make and model tire… They were that bad.

Average

For everyone complaining about these tires on EVs give your head a shake. A Ford lightning weighs nearly as much as a 1 ton diesel and these are passenger rated tires. Even a Nissan leaf is significantly heavier than an ICE vehicle of the same class. They are average tires.

Poor tread life for wet and snow traction

These were the OE tires on my 2022 Explorer. By 25,000 miles the light snow and wet traction was bad. The dry traction and tire noise were decent. I replaced them at 37,000 miles with a different brand since the hydroplaning in wet weather was getting worse. I have the same tires on a Bronco Sport and expect the same problems.

Chassis engineer, we're sorry to read that you were disappointed in the original tires on your Explorer. We certainly don't want you to have the same opinion of the tires on your Bronco. To gather more information about the complaint, one of our team members will be reaching out to you.

Terrible on grooved roads

Rain groove wander is such a problem I have to avoid certain roads, it feels like I'm going to lose control of the vehicle. This is due to the grooves in the tires locking into the grooves on the road, which is absolutely terrifying at high speeds as these grooves are not perfectly straight and cause each tire to wobble the car wildly in different directions. Previous tires, came stock with vehicle in 2021, did not have these issues. I should not have opted to purchase the pricier version advertised by Tesla's app, which advertised up to 20 mile per charge range improvement.

Good performace at a reasonalbe price

Have been on these tires for the last year so I've driven all four season on them. Our season on the west coast are mild so just a little snow but lots of rain. Tires are great. Snow performance is not that important to me but on the AWD cx5 there are no issues in snow. Ice is ice, I drive slowly and no issues. Now, rain performance is great. Lots of grip and road feel. Summer, no issues at all of course. Road noise. How do you rate this. I mean, there is road noise but they are much better than the stock tires. There is always going to be noise but these, IMHO are just fine. Hope they last 5 years and 80K + kms!!!

Hazardous for winter driving

These tires came with our 2019 Rav4 XSE and performed well on dry and wet roads. That all changed when winter set in; breaking distance on snow packed roads was terrible and down right dangerous. I talked to the dealer about changing tires and they said they couldn't do that. I have ordered a new set of tires from a different manufacturer, ones we have been using for years, to mitigate this problem. I have had Michelin tires in the past and have never experienced anything like this before. These are not all season tires.

Bad Quality Tires

I go these tires with my New RAV 4 SE, Such bad quality tires. OnE of the front Tires is Flat within 2 Months and cannot be repaired due to some foam lining inside the tire. I will never suggest these tires to anyone. Now I have three of these new tires and I am stuck buying a new one to match the remaining three.

Horrible product quality

Bought 2022 Eqinox brand new in 2021 tires are at 35,000 and already need replaced. Horrible tire does not meet the 55,000 mile guarantee. I have had my tires rotated at every service appt. No reason I couldn’t get another 20,000 miles out of these tires if the quality was as stated. Will never purchase Michelin tire ever again

66,000 miles and going!

These tires came OEM on my 2022 Toyota RAV4 hybrid XSE. I have driven from Atlanta to Dallas to Pittsburgh and everywhere in between on these tires putting more than 30,000 mi a year on them. I've rotated them every 5,000 mi and balanced them every 10,000 mi with an alignment at 30,000 mi. The traction, ride and longevity have been exceptional! At my 65,000 mi service the Toyota dealership said the tread is now down to 5/32 and I'll need to get a new set when I come in for the $70,000 mi service. Definitely getting a Michelin tire for round two.

Smooooothhh!

Who knew you can actually ride on air? I didn’t think my tires were “that” bad, BUT now I know just how out of whack they really were. Fantastic, light ride, easy to maneuver…you just have to be careful you don’t take a snooze..they are that smooth!,
