Michelin defender 2 tires are the best on the road, my opinion. yes they are a little higher priced but, you get what you pay for.

Got new tires. Haven’t driven enough to review. Difficult to complete registration process. Dealer did not put Dot numbers on any documents. No tear out wallet card provided with emergency number. Waited oh hold excessively long time to try & contact Michelin. 12+ minutes to answer. I can only imagine having a flat on dark country road & them taking even longer to answer! Wonder what the emergency roadside service time will be. So sounds like terrible warranty I hope I never have to use.

I have been driving Michelin tires exclusively for more than 40 years with nothing but praise for their quality and performance. So it made this choice of tire purchase pretty simple. We now have several thousand miles on this set of tires and they are performing exactly as expected.

Great tire for my Subaru Outback. Performance is as expected. Good traction and braking. Cornering is adequate, but I haven't really pushed it anywhere close to the limit. It is not as quiet as I expected, but I guss that is the price I pay for treadlife.

THE DEFENDER 2 TIRES HAVE AN EXCELLENT RIDE, QUIET AND GREAT HANDLING/CRUISING AND CORNERING. WE'RE READY FOR AN EAST COAST TREK FROM SOUTHERN ONTARIO TO HALIFAX AND ACCORDING TO THE DOT CODES, NOVA SCOTIA MANUFACTURING FOR OUR TIRES :)

Vehicle: 2020 Toyota Highlander xle Hybrid Tire size: 230 65 R18 I saw some reviews on reddit saying these Mitchelin Defender 2 were a great choice, and with further research, I decided to get them on the wife's highlander. The wife mentioned that the noise level was much quieter, more comfortable, and felt lighter compared to her previous tire, the GoodYear Reliant that walmart offers. I'd say the Reliant tires lasted around 2 years with highway driving most of its life. We've only had these Defender 2 for about a week, so only time can tell how long these Defenders will last. The wife is happy she likes the tires. We are located in central California, and using them all 4 seasons, the Defender 2 tire is rated for 106h and the highlander is rated for 106v which is determining how fast and heavy the vehicle can handle but we never exceed those ratings its a good dad to day use for highways and all season.

I used the first generation of these tires and ran these 2nd generation as well driving personal and rideshare. They are quiet and like driving on pillows. In a 2wd Genesis sedan in the 1st generation version of these tires I got 2-3 mpg increase in the city and 3-5 mpg in the long distance. My any mpg was 34-35mpg with a V6 heavy sedan. In Colorado winters I could stop and plow through the snow powder or wet sloppy snow I had used sand bags in back for weight to grip. This Defender 2 I ran driving in Utah, Park city I didn’t have any sand bags and got better traction. These Defemder 2 tires were very impressive I did get my money worth out of the Defender 1 I did hit the 80,000 miles I believe I got 87,000 miles out of them. These Defender 2 were on track to beat the 1st generation of this tire. Funny story I drove a gentleman who was picking his minivan up at the tire shop, he was using the minivan for medical transportation, I asked what tires he was getting “Michelin Defenders! Long lasting and get more mpg baby!” I told him they are amazing in bad weather too! He was excited! Go with confidence on this purchase!
