Wobbly

Overall this is a nice basketball goal. The instructions are very easy to follow, and it was simple to put together. The hardest part was digging the footing and pouring concrete, but it wasn't too bad. I matched the dimensions required 21"x21"x30" and it took exactly 13 bags of 80lb Quikcrete. I really like being able to level it and adjust as needed via the anchor bolts. If I ever wanted to move or sell it, easy to unbolt and remove. I didn't intend to buy one with a glass backboard, but I like it and the ball bounces off it nicely. The rim is very solid and sturdy. The crank adjustment is nice and easy to use. My only complaint is the pole, the tubing thickness is way too thin. Every shot results in a good amount of wobble, even at 7.5'. I can somewhat live with that, but there is absolutely no way this thing will hold up if anyone tries to dunk on it. It's a shame because I think everything else is sturdy enough. The tubing is just too thin. There are some gussets at the bottom flange for support, but it's not enough. If I would fill the pole with concrete that would make the pole strong enough, but it would probably need larger anchors to accommodate the extra weight. It's unfortunate because I like everything else about the goal.

Good quality

I was on the fence between this one and the mammoth one with such a big price difference I chose this one, I installed it about 4 weeks ago and am happy with the quality and the sturdiness, I does have some movement on the shot but not enough to effect our gameplay.

Great Hoop

Bought this hoop because it was similar to one we used to have. Assembly was easy, worst part was digging thr hole to pour the concrete...but wasn't horrible. Hoop is solid...does have a little bit of shake to it but nothing crazy and it's solid. If I were to recommend anything would be to make the pole and base 6in square vs 4in and that would solve the shake problem but overall very happy with it.

Backboard Size Different than Advertised??

I just bought the 54" in-ground, tempered-glass basketball hoop (Model # 90568). I'm getting ready to install it this weekend. Upon reading the actual specifications, the documentation says the 'Backboard Dimensions' are 49.5 in. x 33 inches. I very intentionally wanted to purchase a 54" backboard, not a '49.5"' one as the specs indicate. Why are you advertising this as a 54" backboard if it's not??

Excellent quality & value slam dunk hoop

My basketball obsessed teenage boys saved all their Christmas and birthday money, did their research and even installed this hoop themselves! With little help from dad to mix and shovel the concrete! We’ve had it for 2 months now and they’re dunking on it daily and with their mates - they absolutely love this hoop!

100% Satisfied!!! Completed Install In 3 Hours

I am 100% satisfied with this system! I installed my hoop on Friday, July 10th. This was my first time assembling a basketball hoop and I found the instructions to be easy to follow, making the assembly of the hoop relatively easy. The assembly of the hoop itself took approximately 1.5 hours. Where I was able to save time and get the entire installation done in under 3 hours, was by using a ground screw versus pouring concrete (see attached pictures). Every review I read mentioned that the instructions did not call for enough concrete, that the hole was hard to dig, after concrete cured the bolts didn't line up, their hoop was crooked after anchoring the hoop to the concrete pad, etc. This lead me to do some research and I found a company called US Post Company, and they have a product called "Spin Digger" which is a ground screw that is used for mounting various products "In Ground" without using concrete. Richard Parent the owner of US Post Company, he personally came out and installed the ground screw himself. He used a 6' ground screw so it would be below the frost line eliminating any chance for the hoop to ever lean under any load or weather conditions. Using the ground screw made the pole more rigid and sturdy. The ground screw took away all the shaking and spring in the back board that others mentioned in their reviews making this hoop feel like your playing in an actual gym. The ground screw took approximately 10 to 12 minutes to install into the ground. When using concrete the installation process can take anywhere from 3 to 7 days depending on weather conditions and concrete cure time. The ground screw eliminated multiple visits from the installing contractor and changed a 3 to 7 days installation window into a 3 hour same day installation. We started the assembly at 4pm and my kids were enjoying the hoop by 7pm that same day. I mention all of this to help inform others of this amazing in ground assembly system that I think makes this product even better and save you all the headaches of using concrete. If you're interested in finding out more about the ground screw you can contact Richard Parent at 847-980-7194 or rich@uspostmailbox.com.

Great big and sturdy basketball hoop very nice

We bought this about a week ago and we have been very impressed. Sold, heavy parts. Will last along time. I do have one complaint, the hoop dose shake or move a bit after the ball is bounced off the back board. Almost like it should have one more angled bracket off the back to keep it from shaking.

Looks great. So far it’s really nice.

Just got it put up last weekend. The girls are using it every day, even in the rain. We were using a portable one but it kept blowing over. This one shouldn’t go anywhere! Directions were clear and accurate. 13- 80 pound bags of concrete, as recommended.

Concrete Quantity

This is a really nice goal that my kids love. The crank adjustment is a little stiff but I will try lubrication to see if that helps. Not sure how the installation instructions came up with 8 80# bags of ready mix. It took all of 17 bags, plus a little of an 18, .6 cubic feet per bag.

Great hoop

Very happy. Heavy duty. Used the exact amount of cement as recommended. 13 bags. Took my 2 teenage sons and me one morning to put it up. 3 days after it took us all Day to dig and set the concrete. Love how you can adjust the level after everything is set. 2 suggestions. I set the rim tension very tight. Then let it off a couple turns. Also make sure your plate is square to your playing area before the cement sets. Take your time don’t rush the install the directions are great and clear. Nothing beats a real Glass backboard. There is zero rattle and the rim is perfect if you tension is correctly. The sway is typical and doesn’t impact anything at all. Wish it came with a poll pad.
