I bought this at xmas in michigan so very anxious to try them out. I did order br but got black top n bottoms 3 sets. Soon as the snow is done they will be put up ist thing.

No hole in barrel and no part for tap to screw into....there is suppose to be a hole. Directions do not say what your suppose to screw tap onto something or to drill a hole- an email to maker of barrel explained it. What a pain!

I would say overpriced Probably should have purchased a " stand" to put on for stability and draining access BUT did not know that you can purchase it . Lots of debris inside from drilling and cutting during assembly - RINSE OUT WITH HOSE B-4 you install

Terrible product. Would give negative stars if I could. The metal spigot has to be screwed into the plastic threading which is a terrible design. I followed the directions exactly and the first time I tried screwing it in the plastic threading stripped and made the product worthless.

This barrel should be a bit larger , say 25%, and have 2 outlets for hose connection to allow for barrel to drain at a rate that will keep up with a strong rain. As it is, a strong steady rain will cause barrel to overflow before hose outlet can drain.

Awful!! The rims are painted on, water runs off because there is no rim around the top, and it looks so cheap! Spicket will not screw in evenly, tops and sides have dents. Nothing like the picture!! Go to Ace or Tractor supply. I'm going to cut the top off and use as a planter. The most horrible experience purchasing on line and I buy everything on line!

I put the drain together and hooked up the gutter, after the first rain it was leaking around the flange that the drain screwed into. The flange wasn’t glued. I cleaned it all up and put silicone around the flange and reinstalled. Rained yesterday, so far so good

I bought my first ever rain barrel. It came within a week, look just as advertise, nice looking Big barrel all attachments were placed inside. The concept of this rain catcher is great, but could use some revision. My first hard rain barrel filled in super fast and started pouring out the vents on top and spraying out too where gutter hose attaches, even tho I had my drain hose open to drain and attached . The problem is the nozzle is a 1/4 inch as the drain hose will be and can no way drain fast enough for the amount of water coming in to barrel. It takes about half of barrel to have enough weight to even drain at all. So even tho nozzle is at bottom it will drain to about half of barrel only.

i liked the look and ease of light weight installation. B ut this thing leaks bad and i tried to hook a hose up to the bottom faucet part and it does not attach without faucet pulling out. i dont know if its the cheap plastic or the faucet that came with.

Works as expected, though we haven't had much rain. We did hijack the design. As this was not connected to our downspout but is used to catch fast running water off the roof, we took off the lid and put screening around the top. Hopefully this will catch roof runoff and keep leaves and debris out of the water in the barrell.
