You get what you pay for

I thought this would be a great deal on ground beef for the money. It kind of was…but there’s a lot of gristle chunks and connective tissue in it. If you are ok with biting a hard chunk every few mouthfuls, then, go for it. I prefer better quality ground beef than that. So that’s on me for expecting unrealistic quality at this price.

90 10 ?????

I found chunks of fat veins and everything I don't know what they are mixed into the meat. I have bought this product several times before but the last two times it's been very unacceptable I will not buy it again. I hope Sam's. Club will check the meat supplier and see what the problem is

Seems like 80/20 or lower quality lots of grizzle

Ground beef use to be quality. It was actually 90/10. When I cook there is always grizzle. When I make burgers with them, every other bite I'm taking out grizzle. What the heck happened to the quality. It seems as if it is false information, this can't be 90/10. Way to much grizzle and fat. I usually buy it by the case and am very disappointed. I'm thinking I am going to have to start looking somewhere else. Like the price, but the quality is not what it use to be.

Awesome ground beef

My family loves so many dishes that call for ground beef & I have a real problem with the quality of meat in our local stores. If ground beef looks or smells bad when cooking I'm not going to eat it or feed it to my family. Our oldest son raises our beef however I always run out of burger before anything else. Family members are very disappointed when the dishes they love are no longer on the menu. While Sam's shopping one day I thought I'm going to give this ground beef a try, purchased the 90/10 lean & prepared some that very night. I and the rest of my family were amazed. I would rate it right up there with the ground beef from cattle my own son raises. Needless to say I went back to Sam's within a couple of days and purchased 80 lbs. more.

All excellent,

I would buy this again. The cost per chub is excellent and I do not think it can be a better deal any other way. I love the 90/10%, These were heavy but packaged well. I do believe I am set up for ground hamburger meat for a year, and that was giving a few away to family. YES, you would not regret buying in a case lot sale.

very greasy

I have been buying this ground beef for some time now, however the last 2 cases I bought, especially this last one is so greasy! The pan is full of grease with just one pound of ground beef. There is no way this is actually 90/10. Seems like Sam's may be getting one over on their customers.

Rocks in the meat? Or is it bones?

I have exclusively bought ground beef at Sam's for the past 20 years. Recently I am finding that the ground beef has what feels like tiny rocks in it! They are tiny white rocks. I am assuming these are bones, which is terrible. Sams, please do better.

Great for no-chew foods!

This beef has more sinew included than some other bulk retailers, but if you're chopping it down for no-chew foods like bolognese, sloppy joe meat, taco meat, or chili, it's not as noticeable as it would be in chew foods like burgers, meatloaf, etc. If you're making chew foods, have the dental floss handy. I vacuum seal it into half pound packages, so that I can cook 2-meal batches on demand. It really helps stretch the budget, without causing a backlog of leftovers to date and rotate in the fridge.

Force them to weigh in store! 1 - 0.5 lb. missing

Always weigh it... I've bought this many times and it's always 1 to 0.5 lbs short. The latest one I got in October listed weight at 9.69lbs and was billed at that, but weighing it on a certified butcher scale showed 9.10 lbs. So somehow 0.5 lbs magically vanished again. Last order was 1 lb. missing , it was listed at 10.21 lbs. but it weighed @ 9.00 lbs.
