I bought this after reading both good and negative reviews. The negative reviews all report that this product can burn the grass even after following all directions perfectly. Nevertheless, I've had good results from Scotts products and decided to go ahead, but with caution. I also followed the directions to a "T". After 3 days of rain storms this week, I got out about 7 am on Friday morning and broadcast this onto my lawn at the rate of 3.5 as instructed. I could tell that the pellets were sticking to the still wet grass as they were supposed to do. Then, 6 hours later - approx. 3 pm the same day - I took a good look at my grass and saw that some of it was burning. It was worse where my broadcast lines overlapped a little. I could clearly see the white pellets still sitting on the GRASS. I then knew that I had made a mistake in using this product and should have heeded the warnings of so many others who had their grass burned. To try and stop the burning, I grabbed the hose and watered it in by hand. I made sure that I had the hose nozzle on high enough to push the granules down into the ground. I have now watered my lawn by hand for 3 consecutive days. I can clearly see where it's burned and it may be ruined - time will tell. I would NOT recommend this product. Even if you disregard the recommended rate of broadcast and lower it by half, you may still have problems. It's not worth it. Scotts really needs to correct this formula.

My yard was very neglected by previous owners. So it was about 75% weeds. I put this on in the fall and at the end if march this year when everything was sprouting. Theres still weeds but probably not designed to kill them. Dandelion and clover are 97% gone and grass looks much thicker. Also my yard is mostly shade. So the grass was very thin. This is definitely working. Will most likely take another year or two before its done. but it will come around i can tell a big difference already.

I bought this product a few weeks ago and applied after a light rain and after the first mowing as directed. It worked on a couple larger weeds that I watched shrivel up in a couple days. However those weeds are now making a come back, the clover is not killed off, and my yard is made up of 50% dandelions currently. I do not believe this product worked well at all.

I would never use any other product. I take great pride in my lawn and look forward to the results I get each year using Scotts.

I used this with my drop spreader. The granules are so fine that my drop spreader couldn’t get them to come out of the holes and I could not see them on the ground to insure they were spreading. The setting on the bag was 5. I had to set it to 14 just to get them out. They kept clogging up the holes and I had to continually wipe the holes to keep them clear. I have never had this problem before and I use nothing but Scotts products. Don’t buy this if you have a drop spreader. Quite a nightmare.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I applied the Scott’s Turf Builder Weed and Feed a few weeks ago to my lawn. The package directions were very easy to understand and the spreading was consistent and covered the area as described. After a rainy week, the grass greened up considerably and noticeably. Even had a neighbor comment. As for the weeds, I’m still waiting on the clover to be eradicated but the dandelions are shriveling. So far I am pleased with the product and would recommend.

This is a question. I tried to find the contact link but couldn’t. We have the turf builder weed and feed. It won’t come through the spreader on any setting. The spreader works, but none of the product will fall through the hole. Plus, when I tried to distribute it by hand, it kept falling in clumps.

This product helps to eliminate dandelions and weeds in the spring. Instructions are are clear on how to apply. And using a Scotts spreader makes the job get done quickly.

Scotts Turf Builder Weed %26 Feed 3 has been my go to weed killer and fertilizer for years with excellent results and no problems. However, the Weed and Feed I put on my backyard lawn today was full of rock hard chunks of product. I was able to put the big chunks back in the empty bag and step on them to crush them, however there were lots of small chunks that kept getting clogged in the spreader opening. This kept the spreader from being able to spread the fine spray of Weed and Feed on the lawn. I had to keep stopping to get the small chunks out of the opening. I don't know if this was a problem with the product itself or with the Walmart storage of the product. This is the first time I have bought Weed and Feed from Walmart, so it might be a problem with the storage at Walmart instead of the Weed and Feed itself.
