[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed₅ 4M worked very well for me. Directions were clear and easy to follow. Turf greened up quickly and many broadleaf weeds ended up dying. I don't think that any product combined with a turf fertilizer is going to have a 100% success rate at killing weeds, but this one did as well or better than any other I have tried.

I have been buying Scotts for years and have always been happy, but the last 2 years not so. This year forget it! Price has doubled over the years and seems like its a watered down product. I am not doing anything different than before it looked good, but where is the weed preventer? My grass looks like it hasn't been touched in years. Absolute rip off!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have one of the nicer lawns in the neighborhood. People ask me all the time what's my secret, I tell them I use a lot of water and nothing but Scott's products. It isn't cheap but it's worth it!!!

I bought this after reading both good and negative reviews. The negative reviews all report that this product can burn the grass even after following all directions perfectly. Nevertheless, I've had good results from Scotts products and decided to go ahead, but with caution. I also followed the directions to a "T". After 3 days of rain storms this week, I got out about 7 am on Friday morning and broadcast this onto my lawn at the rate of 3.5 as instructed. I could tell that the pellets were sticking to the still wet grass as they were supposed to do. Then, 6 hours later - approx. 3 pm the same day - I took a good look at my grass and saw that some of it was burning. It was worse where my broadcast lines overlapped a little. I could clearly see the white pellets still sitting on the GRASS. I then knew that I had made a mistake in using this product and should have heeded the warnings of so many others who had their grass burned. To try and stop the burning, I grabbed the hose and watered it in by hand. I made sure that I had the hose nozzle on high enough to push the granules down into the ground. I have now watered my lawn by hand for 3 consecutive days. I can clearly see where it's burned and it may be ruined - time will tell. I would NOT recommend this product. Even if you disregard the recommended rate of broadcast and lower it by half, you may still have problems. It's not worth it. Scotts really needs to correct this formula.

Make sure to follow the directions closely. The clover and dandelions wilted the day after use. Proud Scotts lawn!

Long time Scott's Weed & Feed user. Can't recommend this particular product, as surprisingly, it didn't kill the weeds. Have always used their southern-specific lawns products prior, so this is first time to use in a diff climate setting (northern Kansas), but ensured it was correct for this region, read and followed all directions/requirements/indications, and used Scott's spreader dialed in to their drop rate specified for actively growing weeds management. Product simply didn't perform as a weed controller/killer, but greened everything, including the weeds. Noticed big difference in size/design of the product granules, which are much finer/lighter than prior product versions. This also reduces the coverage you can get from the bag as they don't travel as far from the spreader. Disappointed in lack of weed control. First time to use the Scott's product guarantee, after multiple decades using their lawn products.

This product is quite hit or miss. Last season I used as directed two times on my lawn. I was impressed with how quickly and actively the weeds withered. It should be said I applied in mid March in Oklahoma. This year I did the same thing. It’s been about 10 days now and I have not a single withered weed. Perhaps I got a bad bag or something, but I may just end up switching to a different product in a few weeks.

Best of the best. Does what it says it will do. I have been using Scott for years. EXCEPT one year and I regretted it. Yes Scott’s cost more but the value is in the results. (Buy a great spreader, Scott’s does not sell a great spreader. But a good hardware store will. Get REAL rubber tires too) But other than Scott’s poor spreaders their fertilizer is the best!!!
