Very dry ! Tasted old

I purchased this cake thinking it was the original Italian cream cake that Sam’s had a couple years ago Which was delicious. it was not, this cake is way way too sweet to the point of being in edible. There is so much sugar in the frosting to where it is actually gritty.

Although it still tasted pretty good if you like a buttery nut type cake with a sugary icing, it certainly does not pass for its title —Italian Cream Cake. Which is made with Ricotta and never coconut. If nuts aren’t used they are pistachio or almonds Supposedly the icing is cream cheese and perhaps 1/32 of it is but the rest is sugar. It does not taste like cream cheese

This cake is very dry. The buttercreme is waaaayy too sweet...I suggest using whip creme.....Soon as I cut into it I knew it was gonna be hard and dry. Tres Leches tasted waaaayyy better than this dry and too sweet cake. If I could rebake it and add something to moisten it up I would. Completely upset over this flavor. Sam's Club...you need to take this crap off of your bakery section. A complete waste of money!!!!

My friend brought this cake for Christmas Eve. The frosting was so sickening sweet that it overpowered the cake. The cake was on the dry side too. I could not even finish my small piece of cake because the frosting was starting to make me sick from being so sweet. Definitely would not purchase this cake myself.

Do yourself a favor and buy their Chantilly cake with the fruit on top. I tried this cake because it was Italian Crème, but it was entirely too sweet. I mean scrape the frosting off of it. Typically, Italian cakes are subtly sweet. This was overkill.
