Not what I was expecting at all. Dry cake, not a lot of flavor just very sweet frosting. Was thinking this would be a moist, vanilla almond cake with a light creamy filling and frosting. NOT!

If the icing tasted better, the extra thick icing might have been okay. The icing between the cake layers was all that I needed. I found myself scraping off the icing on the top and side.

This cake looks really good but it is rather heavy and the icing is made heavy as well…it has too much sugar and not balanced out with more butter cream. The cake and icing was so heavy and sweet that it was a very unpleasant experience.

Inconsistent quality.

I bought the pot pies (2) and cake for Christmas lunch at my daughter's house. My daughter loves to cook but this year because she was involved in a car wreck, she could not cook. We loved the potpie. It was easy to bake, and they are so big we had leftovers for the next day. This cake is her favorite and was at first unsure of a store bought cake. She loved it and so did everyone else. Her grown sons took left over slices home with them to have a 2nd piece later. That cake was gone in no time. Luckily I hid a piece to have 2nds later that night. It looked so good and tasted even better.

I brought this cake to a Christmas party, and it was one of the first empty dessert plates. The cake has a moist consistency, flavored with small pecans. The frosting is so very tasty- it is real cream cheese buttercream frosting, made from confectioners sugar, and is used to frost both the outside and between the layers. Everyone really enjoyed this cake and many of my colleagues went back for seconds.

I bought this cake for my Family Christmas party, which I hosted. There was not a crumb left! Coconut is my favorite cake and this cake has a good amount of coconut. The buttercream is a tad sweeter than I usually like but, I thoroughly enjoyed this cake.

Good icing very sweet but that's what makes it good. The reason for 4 stars is that this is a 3 layer cake but the bottom layer has no icing between it and the middle layer. Or I guess I should say not enough icing it looks like a regular layer at the top icing and than a double layer of cake.

Good cake!!! Yes, it is sweet. But the icing was not grainy. It was moist and very good. I have read reviews that it is too sweet, etc. It is sweet and rich. If you aren't up to that, pass on this one. My family LOVED it, and it will probably be kept in our holiday rotation.
