Ahhh-mazing.

I am so glad I "bit the bullet" and purchased this machine. My mom had just sent me hundreds of photos for me to scan for her. I was going to use my flatbed scanner which would have taken me weeks to complete. I also like to make photo videos for friends and family doing this. Well I've been eyeing this machine for a while and I finally broke down and paid all that $$$ for it. Shortly after I received it, my BIL's mother passed away from cancer and I was able to scan all of the photos for their memorial (180) in like 10 minutes. It was unreal. They were thrilled. I was thrilled and so motivated - I finished all of my mom's pictures (maybe 800+) in a day!!! And the software that "fixes" the photos - well that's like the icing on the cake. So far I'm still in love. I've had some issues with feeding it certain polaroids (not all just a select flimsy few) but compared to the time-saving abilities it has given me - that's nothing. SO SO HAPPY I have this little guy in my life!

Epson FF-680W Breakthrough Scanner

The scanner has been a great tool for digitizing our years of family photos stored in dusty photo albums. It’s amazing to watch it pump though a stack of photos even at high resolution. Our struggle has been finding a good cloud app with the needed folder management system to display and share them with family and friends. I think one software change would help me significantly. The software does a good job incrementally identifying each photo file name as it’s scanned. However most Cloud apps sort photos by origination date and the Epson software applies the same date and time to every photo. Unfortunately when you scan 100 photos in the order you want them displayed the Cloud software randomly displays the images. This is frustrating and forces you to spend hours manually reordering them afterward. I could use an option that allowed the software to incrementally add one minute to each photo so that they’ll remain in the sequence they’re scanned.

Great scanner except for WiFi.

Received this scanner as a Christmas gift over a year ago. Works great as far as scanning photos and documents and receipts BUT i have had no luck connecting to the WiFi at home so i have to use the USB cable to connect to my computer. I'm not sure if its the scanner or my Mac Book Air that is the problem. Don't seem to be able to find any Epson software updates either. Wonder if its better to use a windows computer.

Fantasitic Scanner!

Wow, what an amazing scanner! I do lots of scanning for my job, including receipts, photos, and documents and this scanner handles them all with ease. I have tried a number of scanners in the past, both manual load and auto document feed and the FF-680W is so much nicer to use than all of them it really makes my job easier. Scanning photos is certainly where it shines, flying through stacks of them in seconds and even at higher resolution it still takes only seconds to get through them. Some of the other ADF scanners I have used could not handle the small two- and half-inch photos, but this scanner had no issues, it even scans front and back of the photo at the same time so you don’t lose the notes on the back. I think I am most impressed by how well this scanner handles receipts. Clearly full-page ones are no issue, but the small, folded up thermal ones that come from some many stores are usually a recipe for disaster with ADF scanners, but the 680W flew through my stacks of them with no jams and the software even recognized it was scanning receipts which was really cool. Overall this scanner is really well thought out, it is compact, wireless, passes the documents/photos/etc. through with very little bend to the document which I think helps this perform so well. Image quality is very good, scan speed is ridiculously fast, and the Epson software has worked great. It took less than 10 minutes from opening the box to my first scan. They even thought to provide a quite long power cord which is great since this is a wireless scanner so you can place it easily where you want. I would highly recommend this scanner to anyone that has lots of photos to scan or needs a versatile scanner for documents and expense tracking as well. This is a review for the Epson FastFoto FF-680W Wireless High-speed Photo and Document Scanner System that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Exceeds all expectations

As a scanner for over twenty years, I have never used a product that delivers the goods as promised like this scanner does. The speed and accuracy are remarkable. Like all scanned photos, if you are a perfectionist as I am, you know in advance that nearly all scanned photos will require tweaking to get the best results. The solution to the problem of the amount of work required to scan the photos to get them into your PC has been solved by this machine. I highly recommend it.

Epson FastFoto FF-680W

Had this photo/document scanner for a few weeks and it is great. Scans photos very quickly and efficiently. Surprising it scans the back side of photos with writing on them. A great time saver. Can't wait to get started on my documents so I can get rid of years worth of docs and photos and organize them digitally.

Fast, Efficient

I bought this some months ago. I had over 2000+ family photos to scanned. This scanner was so fast and easy to use that I had all scanned in a few days. Because you can place so many photos in scanner at one time that a job I had dreaded was a pleasure. I love this scanner.

Great Photo Scanner

This is a wonderful product. It is highly efficient and I was able to scan in 2,500 photos in 2 days. I scans back and front and has an option to let you scan in thicker photos or postcards. 5" x 7" or small. The only issue is getting it set as a wireless device - which needs a little work. Overall it performed beyond my highest expectations.

Very fast scanning and easy to use

I purchased this to scan and archive thousands of old photos. The set up on my home wifi was simple and scanning is very fast (1 to 5 seconds per photo depending on the resolution you choose)! You can scan one or both sides of each photo and I've loaded a stack of up to 51 photos into the document feeder. All photos were scanned and saved. The photo editing software works really well for my purposes and I like how I can scan any size photo without much hassle at all. If you know a little bit about the 'techy' stuff and have to scan a lot of old photos, this is the scanner for you! I've tried other cheaper models (Epson Perfection V39 - flatbed) and it was painfully slow compared to the FF-680W. The FF-680W is more expensive but it's well worth the cost for my purposes.

Fast scanning, questionable quality

If you're just preserving old photos, this is a hit or miss. I went through 2 units. The first one had unacceptable vertical streakage on the image. The second one I received has significantly less streakage but it is noticeable. I'd give up on the speed if it meant the images were better preserved
